His coach was always stating that Stone had no interest. And yet, Stone would be setting up visits, coming to UT's camp, etc. The coach was a UGA hack that hated Tennessee until they hired Vince Dooley's kid.

Thank God Kiffin and Ogre recruited this kid or we would have never had a chance to sign him after they left.

Look at the guys Dooley brought in that didn't have prior contact with Kiffin. They don't have rankings or offer lists resembling Stone's. Do you know why that is?

I couldnt' even tell you the name of 3 schools in the WAC. I don't keep up with them. Everything I've read on La TEch since the hire of Dooley talked about what a below average program it is. I'm not sure, but I think Boise State is in the WAC aren't they? They seem to be doing pretty well.

THey guy didn't have time to build any type of relationship with a kid that wasn't already targeted by the prior coaches. Kiffin saw to that with the timing of his departure. He got what he could. We will see how things go this year. If he sucks as bad as you say he does, I will tell you how great you are.:bow2:

I'm not a fan of the WAC. Like I've said in earlier posts, I had no idea who Dooley was until he was hired. I've done some research on him since, and I like what I see so far. I was worried at the time, though.

So one school is doing well. Must be that fertile Iowa recruiting base. Shame there aren't any good players in Louisiana.

I like how a guy that speaks so authoritatively on Louisiana Tech's struggles can name only one conference opponent.

And yes, he did build relationships with players Kiffin didn't target. See Sapp, Probst, Crump.

This is in no way accurate. Dooley did it largely with players that were there when he got there.

Lol I was reading through a thread the other day and some clown made the comment "I don't see why people try to make it personal with hat?"

He came in to this thread to call Dooley and his supporters trash and sheep. Then continued to try and support his argument by calling out people for typos.

Not really hard to figure out why people don't like him.

On a side note I ran a spell check on this(ya know don't wanna give the great Hat any ammunition) and it tried to replace hatvol with hateful. Guess they don't call these things smart phones for nothing.

I honestly don't see how anyone can look at Dooley's resume and be confident in him doing well, at least not without having a lot of blind optimism. I mean, Mark Richt and Steve Spurrier are struggling, and Tommy Tuberville just got fired.

I'm not even trying to be negative, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Supporting the team and coach are two different things. I love the Vols but could give a crap about Dooley at this point.

I think he raises a valid point. Lots of the top coaches are douchebags. Fans don't really care if they're winning.
