Lane Kiffin's 'dream job' will pay him $4 million. For ... what, again?

ok? This time last year fans didn't know how un-successful lane would continue to be. droski you're right, nothing has really changed, he still hasn't finished a season above .500

It was reported during the HBO Real Sports interview with LK (I watched last night - not sure when it originated).

Interesting interview - pretty balanced.

it originated on the real sports interview. apparently they changed it from $4 mil to "under $4 mil" in the most recent showing.

not just this time last year. 3 months ago you guys were kissing his ass.

I wasn't. I knew he was a flop from the get-go. Good coaches don't run their mouths, especially before they've won anything.

I hate to tell you, but 7-6 is above .500. You really haven't the foggiest about anything you're saying. Not surprising. We're getting overloaded with folks who could qualify for the Intellectual Special Olympics these days. Have a nice day, Corky.

Were you in asleep last year? We finished above .500 with basically the same roster that went 5-7 the year before.

Did you not see the offensive improvement? They turned a QB who couldn't make a hand off the year before into an NFL draft pick and Hardesty into a 2nd round pick.

i suppose so, but definetely the slimeball vibe. neither are afraid to express their opinion though.

That's true, but I don't see them seeking the mic the same way Meyer does. Really true of Carroll too. Meyer's sorority girl immaturity just drives him to the mic and brings out his inner whiny douchebag.

carroll is all fun until he starts losing. then he turns into a whiney d bag. i particurally enjoyed him throwing his WRs under the bus last year just so he wouldn't hurt barkley's fragile ego.

That group has certainly collected a whole bunch of hardware over the last decade. That's much better than having an overrated pretender, like Jeff Tedford or Kirk Frenetz, as one's coach.

i'm agreeing with you. and frankly i doubt anyone would consider tedford overrated at this point. my point was that some of the most successful coaches in the country have kiffin's faults.

Oh, there are still plenty of media types out there who try to pass him off as an upper echelon guy.

Personally, I can't wait for the verbal jousting during SC-Stanford week this season. That'll be some quality soundbites.

I think people who know both of them would be quick to tell you Kiffin and Stoops have next to nothing in common.

they are both dbags. arguing otherwise is riduculous. that doesn't make either of them sucky coaches.

Yeah, because I'm sure you have awesome insights into Bob Stoops' personality. Just because he calls the PAC 10 and their trash officiating what they are doesn't make him a bad guy. It simply makes him right.

right. he's shook your hand a couple of times and now you are his shrink.
Kind of like you'd never met Harbaugh buy knew all these deep , dark secrets about his character flaws and how that would doom him to failure. When you know someone for going on 15 years, you get some insight. That always trumps the crying of a bunch of butt hurt whiners from hippieland who dislike the fact somebody told the truth about their conference.
