No it didn't. You're basically relying on herd immunity, something we don't even have the data on yet, to make your whole assertion.
What we do have data on is hospital capacities which in pretty much all areas except metropolis's were not near capacity or trending towards capacity when they decided to shut down. The purpose of the shut down was to not overload the health system. We cowered in fear over what was happening in Italy and what was happening in NYC instead of making data driven decisions.
Because of this there is a greater chance of a larger second wave due to there being less herd immunity. Herd immunity is the only way we are going to get out of this. Until we are in the clear social distancing and shutdowns needs to be based off local healthcare capacities. If you're shutting down out of fear you aren't saving a dang soul.
