Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I like Clay's intent here.

That said, trends are likely to reverse with opening. So making the case we should be open because things look better is just going to set up for we should shut down because things are looking worse.

His point should be we need to open and operate regardless of what the numbers are saying.

That's true, especially given the property tax increase of 31% who in the hell does that?

Yes and they've been wanting to do away with meat fo how long now?

And what plants are being hit the hardest with this stuff again??
Let's break down the new green deal.
1. Do away with Airline Travel, Rona has taken care of that.
2. Cut car Travel down, Rona has taken care of that.
3. Get rid of cows, funny how Rona is hitting these meat processing plants all the sudden.

I am beginning to see the wisdom in "open everything back up" camp. The only way to take the oxygen out of the moronic protestors is to give them what they want.
Out of sight, out of mind. And that’s why the next wave is going to be just as bad if not worse. LET It wash through the population.
There’s nothing left to do except reopen everything and let people see it.
Sad times we live in.

It's called the F-It School of Epidemiology. You let Darwinism happen.

TN medical community doing a great job. Closed out March just above 10,000 confirmed cases and 199 deaths. That is a crude case fatality rate under 2%. I think that probably puts TN with a mortality rate under 1% given the belief there are at least 2x more cases than confirmed.

I think the "and are unable to support them" is an important qualifier that you and the facebook outrage conveniently overlooked. Frankly, you could put any combination of words before "and are unable to support them" and I'd be OK with 'substitute care'. If you want to feign the outrage, attention to detail and context should be important.

What's up with meat plants being hit hard and not other manufacturing businesses?

I was thinking because of the sanitation with all the animal meat and blood, and maybe the temperature. I found this in USA Today...

The meatpacking industry already has been notorious for poor working conditions even before the coronavirus pandemic. Meat and poultry employees have among the highest illness rates of all manufacturing employees and are less likely to report injuries and illness than any other type of worker, federal watchdog reports have found.

And the plants have been called out numerous times for refusing to let their employees use the bathroom, even to wash their hands – one of the biggest ways to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

Amplifying the danger is that, in many places, meat processing companies are largely on their own to ensure an outbreak doesn’t spread across their factory floors.

Please don’t take this as my stance, but interestingly, this is actually exactly the case. The people most at risk are the most frail (elderly requiring full time nursing home care) and those with underlying health issues that could be considered largely “modifiable,” meaning obesity or lifestyle related medical issues. Obviously that’s not 100% true...never is. But this surviving this virus without any other measures really does appear to be survival of the fittest.

Does that leave you feeling violated? I can't imagine being so easily manipulated. I'll pray for you.
Just as easily as some people posting Alex Jones infowars level stuff on here. These groups are funded by at least in some way Betsy Devos.
