This is what I don't get - I can't imagine what metric NY is leading on in terms of doing a good job handling things. I guess he has nice Powerpoint slides.

I do like how he told nursing homes it's their problem to get PPE but begged the Feds for help getting PPE and vents and ... Cajones mas grande

I know a few others who shared your logical, calculated views on human extermination.

If someone can't watch a video of the policy they support being carried out, it's ludicrous that is somehow unfair.

Would you be against someone who is pro torture being showed videos of torture? It's not an appeal to emotion. It's forcing people to confront the policy they support as a living, conscious being.

Correct. The debate went on for a long time, the public record speaks for itself, and the Pizzagate level conspiracy theories sort of do all the heavy lifting of discrediting the author. Takes all the fun out of it.

Plus, watching the mental gymnastics of a Trumpist trying to go after Amash on the grounds that he didn’t do enough to stop Trump from making even more invasive surveillance kosher was much more entertaining.

Felony murder is murder 1 in most places. My guess is they’re being charged with felony murder. Not sure what the predicate felony is but kidnapping would qualify in most places.

I still can’t believe Kevin Hasset and that civic model. I know he’s out there trying to say that he didn’t intend it to be a forecast. But 1) it appears some in the White House took it that way and 2) if you want to ‘smooth data’ why not just use a moving average and why plot any points of the cubic fit (not model) beyond where we have measured current data? I’ve always felt Kevin just worked too hard to please. I remember his press conference from mid-18 where he rolled out all these different plots of why the economy was amazing and it was only because of Trump and on almost every one there were tricks played with the way the data was shown chosen or shown in order to drive home a point. Basically data warfare. At the time I was like “I get that you aren’t making this up, but really, Kevin?” And the second I heard about “Kevin’s cubic model has deaths going to zero in 11 days” the exact same thought occurred to me.

In other news, despite a lot of people giving IHME a lot of grief (and they do deserve some regarding their initial hospitalization projections), their death modeling in that First March release has held up quite well. We’ll see if their recent revisions factoring in opening back up hold up as well or whether factors like warmer weather turn the tide.

30 million people are unemployed. The repercussions could last for years. Yeah yeah... Orange man bad. Whatever it takes, right?

I just watched a video of them taking what looked like a foot long giant q-tip and running up both nostrils to their brain pan to take a sample . Y’all can do as you please , I’ll not be participating in that little exercise . That’s a hard nope .
