Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I don't know.

How many suicides, spousal abuses, substance abuse cases, cancers not being detected, other health issues being ignored and postponed leading to serious health problems or death because health care is delayed denied or hospitals have had to shut down because of our covid response, is grand ma's life worth?

That's a stupid game you are playing. It isn't one or the other.

You're right in part. It's not one or the other. We can reopen businesses, but it needs to be done cautiously with precautions in place. And WHEN the next wave hits, we'll need to fold up the tent for awhile, rinse, repeat, until we get a treatment and/or vaccine.

Depends what you mean by “out” but generally speaking, yes.

If I’m going in a store, I put it on before I get out of the car and take it off after I get back in. I haven’t worn it to pump gas or when visiting family. I haven’t worn it when running or doing yard work. If I were going to go through a drive through, I’d put it on before I got to the window. If I’m doing take-out I put it on when the person comes to the car. We’ve done dine-in once to support a nearby restaurant after they reopened. I did not wear a mask. Seemed impractical since you can’t wear a mask while you’re eating.
Doing the exact same. Amazing we think so alike. :p

Nope..... I have seen enough..... open it wide open and go for it

Maybe on your last part. I don't know if the general populace will be so cooperative this time and there are only so many jails.

Laws only work if most obey them. If most do not, they are no more than just words on paper.

A fair point. But answer this: Got a grandmom? How much is her life worth to you? Got a price you're willing to put on it?

No I don’t , or a grandpa . You are barking up the wrong tree . I’m a gen -xer , I grew up in the 70s-80s in the south . My toys were and paints were lead based , I grew up drinking out of creeks , wells and water hoses . We ordered guns from the S&R Christmas catalogs and played with lawn darts while shooting each other with BB guns . Life is what it is , you can either be a sheeple or a lion . I can also say with a 99% positivity that none of my grandparents would have sheltered in place to avoid a virus , they would be carrying on with their lives . 🤷‍♂️

True. Make no mistake, I'm enjoying this exactly not at all.

If there were a simple solution, we wouldn't be mired in this.

Having said that, I think the most obvious 'solution' at hand comes down to volunteers: If people would be willing to be intentionally infected and then isolated until no longer contagious (or until hospitalized, then recovery or death), then IF surviving the virus conveys immunity.... if enough people did this, we could reach herd immunity eventually.

I would volunteer for this.

It's going to happen anyway, eventually.

Walmart sells a cellphone sanitizer that uses uvc light. keep one in your car you can put your cell phone, check card, keys and your mask in it to kill the virus. If you are going to go all ppe then you may as well go all out.

Well, my kids have grandparents. None of the grandparents are for turning America into a third world country for their grandchildren in order to maximize chances they dont get covid. Sometimes it is tough being an adult, for some people evidently.

California Governor Gavin Newsom promised to lay off first responders first unless the state gets more government cash.

I actually watched your link.
That may be the worst "news" site and biggest load of biased BS that I have ever witnessed. My eyes and ears are still burning.
