Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Have you ever noticed several posters have trouble understanding your points. At sometime you have to ask yourself is it you problem.
Whose posts are you even reading?

I’m not taking about the businesses.

I’m taking about individual choices.

And what those choices say about the individual.

Can I make it any simpler?

It's a you problem Rocky.

Im not sure what rock you’ve been living under, but most states have some requirement regarding the wearing of masks.

Here’s a brief summary of those regulations:

Facing Your Face Mask Duties – A List of Statewide Orders, as of May 21, 2020

Getting back to your original statement I was responding to:

I still don’t understand what there is to make fun of if someone wants to reopen the economy and doesn’t want to wear a face mask.

We were told for weeks that the economy was more significant than preservation of human life. Now we find out that for many of those same people, personal vanity is more significant than the economy. It’s not a good look.

Does anyone deny CNN is basically just propoganda at this point? Would CNN even deny that?

I would love to just sit down in a closed room with a CNN executive and try to wrap my mind around how they think interviewing a failed governor with his brother on the air can even be remotely passed off as objective journalism.

And then you've got the WH press conferences. If press barbie can write your question down in a notebook before you ask it, it isn't a question. The purpose of questions is to ask things that people don't know.

Jesus. The president has been complicent in facilitating this garbage media, but it's so ****ing stupid to watch these days.

Thats a pretty broad assumption on your part that they are all Trump voters. Most appear to be low income which if we go off history alone would tell us that they are democrats. Now I could be wrong but that is my assumption with no evidence to say otherwise

I love the assumption game.

The study was Lancet-published. I wouldn’t say reporting on it is an indication that they don’t want anyone to get well, regardless of how dumb the media in general has been in their reporting on HCQ.

I read a synopsis of the “study” (observational, but very large). They focused on patients given HCQ within 48 hours of hospital admission (5000 out of 95000 total studied) and compared those with and without antibiotics with it. Part Inhate in these is it doesn’t answer why they were given it that soon. Was it because they were more advanced in illness or that is just how that hospital treated patients.

The actual study is here, if anyone wants to read something beyond partisan tweets. It was a very comprehensive and non-partisan review of all available data.

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)31180-6/fulltext

In summary, this multinational, observational, real-world study of patients with COVID-19 requiring hospitalisation found that the use of a regimen containing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine (with or without a macrolide) was associated with no evidence of benefit, but instead was associated with an increase in the risk of ventricular arrhythmias and a greater hazard for in-hospital death with COVID-19. These findings suggest that these drug regimens should not be used outside of clinical trials and urgent confirmation from randomised clinical trials is needed.

Im not sure who told you exactly what you stated, but I’m open to seeing it. The arguments I have seen - and ones I have made - is a cost / benefit approach and a questioning of the rationale behind the shutdown measures.

Im advocating for an approach that errs on the side of liberty. Let business owners open their shops and decide how to handle the restrictions they want to implement.

Let people make their own decisions about what PPE they want to wear, if any.

You’ve come up with a strange argument that my personal decisions are responsible for how strong of am economic recovery we will have. And then engaged in a shaming tactic to win the argument.
