How does that make my argument invalid and wrong? We had people not wearing masks in places with and within spikes.

We also had states like California that didn’t reopen and had spikes.

Also seems those holidays correspond with certain protests, but that’s unrelated right?

They are risk takers and probably super spreader events. Protests usually aren't planned and organized by state and private institutions. College football is.
Weird you think your actions everyday don't influence whether you might live or die any sooner or later.

It seemed Cuomo did ok in the spring. I have not kept track since, So IDK. I obviously have strong feelings about the Federal nonresponse.

One thing I read has stuck with me. The response to this serious health threat affecting everyone shows Americans have lost their fear/respect for communicable diseases. That is dangerous. We were lucky for a good run of public health safety (barring HIV). We had some close calls, but they were contained. Scientists and officials worked hard to protect society and now the immunological arms race has gone up a notch.

I wasn’t scared and went on a trip, now dealing with the consequences. Having to go to the doctor this week to see what the heck is wrong with me. Had active Covid symptoms for two weeks and now 21 days later have elevated heart rate, tinnitus, headaches, and numbness and bizzare feelings of nausea and fatigue. Hope to god I don’t have heart damage and neurological damage from Covid. I’m scared and I’m just sick of hearing my fellow vol fans try to downgrade or outright say this virus is a hoax. I’m 38 years old and healthy with no underlying conditions whatsoever before I contracted Covid. Go Vols.

We had so much fun with subs. We had one that would tell us how the Japs controlled the weather in America with satellites to get us back for WWII. One guy was a Vietnam vet who would jump under the desk if someone slammed a door or dropped a book. Another was brain dead so we harassed her constantly, she made me write down my name to report it to the teacher so I put Peter Warrick.

No, protests also added to it but you cannot establish a correlation that masks did not make a difference here up until Memorial Day. The curve was flattening and then started spiking again after Memorial Day especially in the South. This is the time when some states and areas of the Country started the reopening phases. No scientific studies are needed to form this opinion.

I never said it was a hoax, just everything else is. We know that China did this and we know why. But you can bet that after the election its magically going to go away. They have turned this political. I hate that anybody gets this and hope you recover.

He rounded up ventilators. Established emergency overflow capacity for hospitals. I bet he made lots of mistakes. Maybe some major ones. It was June before Covid-19 was confirmed to be a circulatory disease. So the earliest patient treatments were more often ineffective. I don't know much about NY since end of April. Been too busy watching my local numbers grow everyday.

I am stating I don't have deep info.

This country would probably be over this if it was just locked down for 60-90 days from the beginning. The world isn't going to end if there's no football. Honor the kid's scholarships, and give the one's who will have exhausted their eligibility the option of coming back. It's not the player's fault universities don't put aside some of this revenue for a "rainy day". And let's stop with the notion that these young men are here to earn a scholarship. They were recruited to play football, not earn degrees. You ever had a conversation with an athlete about their field of study ?! Doubtful. If your life is such that not having a season impacts you that much, that's your problem.

Yet states that didn’t reopen experienced the same spike? Seems the real correlation is geography not policy. Southern states were hit hard because people went inside.

And the only correlation with masks is a negative one. Meaning people who are most likely to wear masks are the ones who live in countries that have been decimated by this. Countries that handled this really well have citizens who have been less likely to wear masks.

So the two main media narratives (this is because people aren’t wearing masks and republicans reopened their states) are both false narratives.

If we locked down for 60-90 days, we would just see an uptick on day 91. The idea that if your lockdown is long enough you’ll see no spike is absurd.
