Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I haven't really paid attention to this forum for a while. It's pretty funny to see the evolution of right wing positions from "it's fake" to "it's real but it's not serious" to "the press hasn't been fair in its coverage."

The argument wasn't that no one would die. It was that the media would stop covering it once Trump lost.

My phone hasn't been showing any covid news lately - not numbers of cases, and certainly nothing about Christmas/NY spikes, so it looks like the media are complicity complying for lyin' Joe. Not that long ago they were hot on how TN is the leader in cases, and now zip.

We have a serious distribution problem. I probably meet the qualifications for guinea pig right now, but I'm not about to take my place or your place in a four hour line. This is BS; they need to get doses into the hands of doctors who can immunize patients who need it most rather than turning cities loose on a couple of distribution points. This crap makes the military hurry up and wait look like the model of efficiency.

If you are interested, the state of Tennessee has 70 page document on how the vaccine is to be distributed. I'm sure that some of the billions of dollars that went to distribute the vaccine went to create this sludge of a document. Since I'm a 2ab or some other way down the line candidate I'm looking to May/June for my vaccine shot.
As an aside, Knox county had 500 doses available for people over 75 and first responders on a first come first serve basis. The distribution is a cluster.

TN was number one less then a week ago. You can go to every major news website and on the main page is a story about Corona surging. I don't know if you are being intentionally disingenuous or intentionally obtuse.

I'd have to have my cardiologist tell me for sure, but from the chart I'm pretty sure it's 1c for me. If I'm going to have to wait, I want the one dose Johnson and Johnson stuff. I can't believe that the actual distribution is so poorly handled - the punctuation - not the classification.

Not at all. On my phone I page right and it brings up top stories - covid rate has dropped off, and it used to have at least 3 - 5 stories - and specifically about TN cases. It's just not there. I can also do Google news on the phone and scan down through - nothing there either. That's not disingenuous in the least; there is a change. I'll find some news about immunizations but nothing about spread. Now if I search, sure I can find it, but that's not the point I was making.

Just checked my phone again. Covid spread coverage that was there a couple of weeks ago is MIA. The point is somebody's algorithms that prioritize news like the ones that do searches are filtering covid spread ... at least in some cases.

I am increasingly of the thought that medical school does not include a research methodologies course requirement. So much bad science from MDs.

Reviewing the anecdotal data, I would say that it does appear worthy of parallel studies from a few different labs / groups.

Study it for sure. Just wouldn't get my hopes up. Doesn't seem to have severe side effects.

Were you able to read the study? Article says it’s awaiting peer review. I didn’t see the actual study linked.

No, my opinion right now is based completely off the numbers quoted by the doctor. It might change once the initial study itself is released and I can dig into the methodology and outcomes.

I didn’t watch video, but from the article it at least sounded like there was a control arm in the study.

You'll start seeing the coverage drop off, when Bush was in office the nightly news gave a body count of soldiers dying. Obama came in, they stopped. The covid news will be less.
