An individuals vaccine status is the business owners business if they choose to make it their business. Baring a business from requiring proof of vaccination is no different than forcing them to serve or employee people they don't want to.
Nope. Disagree. They can impose limits on how I act on their premises, it’s their property so making me wear a mask is in their purview. It’s none of their damn business what my personal health information is. That’s consistent.

It wasn’t clear what the impact would be between business and employee in that. Like I posted yesterday my company is allowing voluntary vaccination status information to permit not wearing a mask on the premises. I don’t know honestly if the new TX law crosses into the employer/employee relationship where I think the employer has quite a bit more assertion capacity.

So you oppose the "right to refuse service"?

Not at all. A business is well within their rights to mandate how I behave on their premises. My health information is none of their damn business. Or do you oppose my privacy rights?

No, I support your right to privacy 100% just like I support a businesses right to do business with whom they choose for whatever reason.

Not on this case you don’t. The two issues are at odds if you think a business deserves access to my personal health information “just because” 🤷‍♂️

Showing ID to buy liquor or beer is different than showing a vaccination card. Are HIV positive people required to make their medical status public in order to walk around a shop full of knives?

They should be if the business owner wants it that way.

Exactly my point. None of their damn business.

The business does not have a right to your health information but you don't have a right to enter that business either. They can refuse you so long as it's not because of race, religion or sex

No a business does not deserve to access your personal health information. A business does deserve the right to refuse you service if you don't provide it upon request. Everyone has choices that way.

If the shop owner had a policy they should be.

They should be if the business owner wants it that way.

What happens when a business owner doesn’t check IDs before selling alcohol? If they “want it that way” it should be ok, right?

What I’m getting at is that absent a federal law, a business owner can’t discriminate based on the health record of a patron. At least not without facing a lawsuit.

Yes, a business owner shouldn't have any obligation to ensure you aren't breaking the law.

The fourth amendment disagrees with a business being nosy just because they want to be

You literally just contradicted yourself. And as I said above the fourth amendment is on my side.

We are speaking philosophy and mine is the guy taking the risk (his money and property), should be able to run it any way they choose.

I didn't contradict myself in the least. A business has no right to access your health information unless you give it to them. You have no right to demand service unless you comply with the businesses policies.

See how that works?

Like the 1st amendment the 4th doesn't apply to private transactions.
I agree that the constitution specifically is a limitation on the federal government. I also use it to point out that what is good for limiting government is good for limiting needless nosy businesses 😎

No. If they have no right to it then they can’t use it to limit me. A method which would work would be require customers to voluntarily offer vaccination status or impose a mask mandate.

I disagree.

I never pegged you for a socialist even though you live in TX.

Does a business have a right to require you to wear shoes?
