Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Where's your long-term safety data on contracting COVID? I assume you've been able to rule out future autoimmune diseases from the virus?
We do have a pretty good idea of the long-term effects of several coronaviruses that circulate regularly, as well as many other respiratory infections commonly acquired during childhood. To date, children have not had a significant number of long term complications from CV19 infection, including those with MIS-C, which responds extremely well to IVIG.

Compare that to the long term safety data of mRNA vaccines in the younger population. . . Oh, wait. . .

We have a pretty good idea how other vaccines work, too. But this isn't about waiting for more data on COVID. It's all culture war bull#$%^ being pushed by the conspiracy wing of the GOP.

Hope you're happy.

If you can't understand the difference between FDA approved vaccines with decades of safety data and a new technology with Emergency Authorization and no long-term data, I'm not sure that I can help you.

Then again, I know that you can and are just trying to use this as a political attack. It's not working.

Remember the good old days when the term anti-vaxers was reserved for Orthodox Jews and white people with dreadlocks in California?

Here's some of the "bull#$%^ being pushed by the conspiracy wing of the GOP" (quoted from the WHO report dated July 9, 2021):

"Very rare cases of myocarditis and pericarditis have been observed following vaccination with the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. These cases occurred more often in younger men and after the second dose of the vaccine, typically within few days after vaccination. Current evidence suggests a likely causal association between myocarditis and the mRNA vaccines"

Look, don't get me wrong. I would never support a CEO making the vaccine a requirement for employees but I fully support ones right to do it.[/QUOTE]Luckily 67% of companies surveyed say they aren’t making that choice right now. They want to wait on some more long term data.

You do realize that doesnt mean they are halting vaccines to kids.....lol.

Why? It's either helpful in curbing the pandemic or it isn't. If it is, why not encourage it? If it isn't, why offer it?

Because the pandemic isnt the end all be all issue of the country. The may want it to be, but it isnt. Young children are at minimal risk and it is impossible to know any long term effects, as there is no possible long term data available.

The vaccine is available, no one is unaware of it. If you want it, get it. If you dont, dont. The government needs not be the cheerleader for it considering all the different variables for every individual.

I get not "cheerleading." But why prohibit sending a postcard to a teen that already got their first shot reminding them to get their second?

Further why ban the marketing of all vaccines, including those that are long known to be safe?

The pandemic has been over for awhile. It ended before the mass vaccinations.

I'd love to believe that. But pockets are popping up again. I've been paying attention to Orange County, FL because I hope my September trip to Disney World can be sans mask. Their numbers are climbing, and Septembet is still going to be really effing hot with a mask in central FL.

Idk, but dont care. I'm all for people having to figure such basic stuff out on their own.

Just talking strategy though, considering almost every person that wants the vaccine has had it, the best thing you could do as a state would be start spreading rumors of vaccine shortages and creating day long waiting periods to get a show now. You would be flooded with the people on the fence.
