What is his stance, exactly.? Is he prohibiting a child from wearing a mask if the parent or the child wants to wear one? Or, is he prohibiting state agencies and organizations from requiring all children to wear one?

If our press corps had 1 inkling of integrity they would be asking the Biden administration daily "when are they going to press China on how they got Covid under control?" Either China has found the magic bullet for Covid or (most likely) they are lying but in whatever case China isn't throttling its economy to get it under control.

He's prohibiting them from a mandate but students are allowed to wear as they wish. We got an email yesterday that our schools encourage masks but they are still optional.

Personally I think he has overstepped with this ban and local systems should be allowed to make their own decisions. He wouldn't like the feds telling him how to run his state

His stance on keeping the economy and schools open was great and we were so happy to be living in FL during this thing. Getting my kids back in school and sports did more for their mental health than anything else. However he has made some very questionable decisions in the past few months that has me wondering what's going on. I think he's got a big head and/or is getting really bad advice.

I agree with this. It has been great living in Florida. I like the freedom but it seems like a lot of his decisions lately are purely political.

Whether it is him or advisers, it is 100% intended to help with his national ambitions. I don't think it will but that's his motivation.

When they dropped the mask mandates and said vaccinated can stop wearing masks, everyone stopped wearing them. So clearly that didn’t work because you have people that are selfish, think they know better and don’t care about others.

Yet no one can point to any data that says masks slowed the infection rate.

Here we go again. Worshiping the almighty mask. Masks are part of the recommendations. They aren't the only recommendation. They are the most visible. You don't know if those who go sans mask are following distancing or hand washing guidelines. And with the comparisons between states with different approaches to mask mandates now available, I believe distancing and washing are more important than masking.
