Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Maybe I was wrong. I thought they pulled it at one point for some reason or other.

The feds recommended a "pause" over blood clots several months back. They backed off of that recommendation when everyone with any common sense pointed out that the clots had occurred in fewer than 1 in 1,000,000 recipients. And I don't believe the pause was ever official.

Ah, gotcha.

I believe this is correct.

Texas Supreme Court temporarily BLOCKS Mask Mandate for San Antonio Schools in win for Gov Greg Abbott's ban on face coverings

Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott scored a legal victory Thursday in his attempt to ban mask mandates in public schools.

The Texas Supreme Court has blocked a mandate issued by San Antonio and Bexar County for their schools — a blow to efforts by some cities, counties and school districts to go against Abbott's ban on such measures.

Gah.

I was just sent an email from my building manager (not my boss) with surveillance pictures of me and several of my students not wearing masks while standing away from each other. It was copied to my boss (who was in one of the pictures talking while unmasked, hah).

This guy is pushing the line a little bit. It's going to get annoying, and fast.

Now do you understand? People are getting way too zealous and aggressive over something like a mask, which is marginally effective.

Now if people will snitch on you over something as minor as this, let's see how far this goes if the come up with vaccine passports.

And I knew as soon as something bad happened there would be Trumpers overjoyed by it and sure enough, here they are.

Who in Hades is overjoyed by today? See that is where u and I differ. You look at everything as personal political vindication. Like some personal political scoreboard.

Yeah, inside. We're in a Leeds Gold building with HEPA filtration and ultraviolet in the exchangers (whatever that means). None of my kids are closer than 6 feet in the halls.

It's that I'm being sent photos from building cameras that make me uncomfortable.

This is one of the many concerns I personally have with this hysteria. If they go to these vaccine passports, you know they will be contact tracing you by cellphone and seeing who you came in contact with. This can turn into a very dystopian type of ordeal very quickly. Looks like in your case, you are dealing with a hint of it right now.

And it makes you wonder, is this really about health, or could we be playing in to another agenda.

Hell, of either one? But I was specifically talking about the vaccine.

Let me tell you where my high school classmate is at at this point: He's been on a vent for over a week. There is so much fluid in his lungs that he's been lying face down for 3 straight days. They've told his wife that he wouldn't survive being flipped to his back. His kidneys are completely shot, but is lungs are so completely filled that they are having to be cautious how much is given to him via IV, so they are grinding up pills and sending them thru his EG tube. They can't do much of anything about his lungs since they have gone completely stiff due to ARDS.

This is a 38-year-old man we're talking about. He previously expressed concerns about long term risks from the vaccine on social media. To state the painfully obvious, his most likely risk is death, and not in the long term. But if by some miracle he survives, I'd be hard pressed to think of any conceivable long term risk from the vaccine that would be in the same zip code as the complications he will have to deal with.

That's one case. It's anecdotal. But this is his reality at this moment, and his best case scenario is still incredibly bleak. This is why I find it so baffling that anyone could look at what's happening around them and still be more concerned about what is essentially the boogeyman: a scary unknown risk in the undefinable future. But if you can envision some complication that his worse than this reality, I'm all ears.

If I am not mistaken you are not considered "fully vaccinated" until 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as J&J vaccine
But protection goes from 0 to 100 from day 13 to 14? Clock strikes midnight and the Fauci fairy comes by and sprinkles pfizer dust on you while you dream of clicking your heels together three times saying " the vaccine will save me"?

The manufacturer also says you need a booster. So I guess all the 2 vax people arent really vaccinated either.

Your choice doesn't just affect you. If infected, unvaccinated people carry the virus longer than vaccinated people. If infected, unvaccinated people have a higher chance of infecting other people.

You have the right to do as you wish, but when you are no longer able to go here or there because of your choice then you shouldn't complain. When you are hospitalized and dying from COVID you shouldn't complain either.
