I maintain that a lot of this was driven by context. If such a panelist started off with "The China virus was the result of a lab leak..." it just went off the rails by then because it would have been immediately apparent that they reached a conclusion in search of a theory to support it.

I am talking negligence in Wuhan..not who funded what is already known.
That lab was at minimum negligent and a CCP operated lab.

I get it..it is a pipedream, but surely someone is held to account..a pipe dream.

Just think if 100M US citizens signed onto a lawsuit. Now that is activism I would support.

Of all the people in the entire World ever quoted on this subject, I am the most convinced that the one with the least scientific basis for what he said was Donald Trump. If you drew up a list of every person in the World who ever made a statement about the origin of the virus, ranked from having science in mind when the statement was made, from most to least, Trump would be at the dead bottom of the list. Literally last.

I remember one of the local numbskulls on the board telling me that me doing strep tests all day didn't make me a virologist. Well, some of the best ID specialists and virologists were sent to Wuhan, sequenced the virus, concluded that it looked unnatural, then reported that to Fauci. That seems like pretty solid evidence.

The latter first - as has been pointed out to your over and over, Fauci changed his public tune after he could no longer deny the plausibility of the lab leak. He was alerted to it in at least February of 2020 and was instrumental in quashing it. There are plenty of quotes from him saying the lab leak theory was not plausible that you choose to ignore. The release of emails of his conversations with scientists who were open to the lab leak theory meant he had to publicly say what you quoted.

on the first - perfect example of what DC and I have said. Complete exaggeration. The head of the CDC (Redfield) felt the lab leak was likely. I'm sure Trump was being advised by scientists. So actually he did know much more about it than any of the talking heads who labeled it a conspiracy theory.

A statement from 5mos ago is completely irrelevant to what was said and done in early 2020. People were targeted and ruined for daring to suggest an alternate theory to the wet market lie. I have reached a conclusion based on what was said at the time and what we now know to be true. Fauci is as fraud, a liar, and very likely has a hand in this from the start. He was able to take control of the narrative for a long time yet the truth is coming out.

Well, we could not have simply imposed our will on their situation, but I generally agree that their continued refusal to allow unfettered on site investigation increases suspicion of the lab leak theory.

The cheating was bad, yes. But it was the ruthless way he, ESPN, Sports Illustrated attacked and destroyed anyone who dare say there was something amiss that really sets him apart.

Trump ain’t all that smart. Repeats a lot of what he hears. I think was was doing it a lot early on. Including the “disinfect the lungs” stuff.

His quote…. “And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets inside the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”

The Wet Market theory was always much more culturally insensitive than the Lab Leak theory.

Even though it was the Lab Leak theory that was deemed racist.

Students 30 years from now are going to be thoroughly confused when they are told it was the Democrats that sought to lay the blame at the feet of a culturally peculiar East Asian practice.
