You remind me of a guy in my graduate program, who imagines elaborate conspiracies and communist fascist professors saturate the department and university. It's sad, because it is all in his head.

So the 15 minute debate I had with one of my Ohio State professors about why his view on socialism working better than capitalism was wrong was all in my head?

I'm talking from personal experience here. I'm talking about crap that I actually heard professors say when I was in their class room. I can't count how many redistribution of wealth speaches I was forced to swallow. How the rich need to pay their fair share crap.

Your comments would be funny if they weren't so utterly unfounded.

Yes, there are good professors and yes there are some conservatives still working in Public colleges. But there are a ton of far left liberal professors who are pushing an agenda.

I think your main problem was that you attended Ohio State......... I kid, I kid. But I do thoroughly hate the Suckeyes.

I like how you say "no slant here" as if you truly believe yourself.

The fact that you are selectively picking videos only of professors who are extremely liberal is a demonstration of your bias. You understand that, right?

Here are the results of my YouTube query for "university professor":
YouTube - university professor

Here are the results of my YouTube query for "university professor" and "politics":
YouTube - university professor politics

Interesting that in neither of those queries do I get anything close to what you find. Therefore, I believe that you queried something along the lines of "professor" and "socialist". Congrats for being fair and balanced!

But you do not disagree that there are far left liberal professors all over the country? You aren't disputing that fact are? You're just going to name some from the other aisle. I will agree that there are far reight professors too. The majority of professors are far left though. Every study has found this.

So if I type in anti-american Professor and pages of links pop up that makes me unfair?

I think it makes me understand how to use a search engine and Google.

Is Google unfair by placing links under the search Anti-American Professor?

Point is, they exist. All over the place. That's a fact. It wil lalso still be a fact no matter how hard people like IP want to throw out the "it's all in your Republican head" talking point to anyone who states it.

I did not name any from either aisle. I simply am stating that your view is slanted.

Of course, there are some far-left professors. There are also some far-right professors. I remember my Advanced Tax Professor at the University of Tennessee stating clearly that the job of a good accountant is to work so that their client, be it a company or an individual, avoids the most amount of taxes possible.

From the perspective of purely mechanical tax accounting, that bit was certainly unnecessary in teaching what needed to be taught; however, it was the professor using her time to pass her viewpoint to her students.

In another course, taken the same year, I had to sit through the movie Baraka in place of the professor actually lecturing. Baraka is a non-narrative "documentary" that is certainly anti-Western Civilization.

If the issue is that professors, due to the nature of their jobs and their job security are given plenty of opportunities to act as ideologues, then I agree. Yet, if the issue is that only left-wing professors do so, then I patently disagree.

Sir, I noticed many welcoming you back to VN. Apparently, I came aboard on a more regular basis during your absence. If not, I have only noticed your posts in the last few days. Nevertheless, welcome back. I really like your style and so far have agreed with the vast majority of your politics. I too find it ironic for those on either extreme to bemoan perceived biases only from those in disagreement with their beliefs. Once again, welcome back and well done.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but seriously? That's your right-wing example. First thing, I totally agree with her. When you are a CPA you are paid by a client to save them as much money as legally possible. If not they will find another CPA. That is just business and has nothing to do with a republican slant.

I give you Nazi comments and down with the white man and professors who blew up a building and you give me a tax example?

I sat through a class where my professor said anyone making over 150K owes the black man 75% of their salary because their money was earned by years of African blood and we still owe acres and a mule. That is far left. That promotes and does not help the racism issue our country has. He then told me, as I disagreed with him, that I didn't understand being a white male. He himself was white might I add. I then told him he was a fool, yes I called him a fool, and that my grandfather was black. he then uttered how my grandfather must have been an Uncle tom type.

That's far left. That's my example.

Technically, a CPA's job is not to avoid taxes it is to file them correctly.

Seeing avoidance as paramount to correct, is what ultimately led to the Arthur Anderson - Enron debacle.

Avoiding taxes legally is a CPA's job. You took out the word legal that I used and then went to Enron which was not legal.

Good job. Nice edit job.

neocon, you linked a bunch of cherry-picked youtube videos. I've spent the last 9 years of my life in and out and around literally thousands of professors. They're as diverse as any group of people, and no more or less "extreme." I'll trust my experiences in the real world and common sense over your bad semester at tOSU and your obvious extreme bias.

There all youtube videos? Look again. I also spent 5 years at OSU and lived on Campus just outside the Arena District. That was cute. Again we down play. This is what liberals do. The "I'm smart and educated and your just stupid" routine. Cute IP. You hit those talking points like a true trained puppy.

While no liberal nor conservative, I see you are hitting all the right's talking points. Liberals are children, let the 'adults' take charge, if not a conservative you are anti-american, etc. Congrats yourself.
