If this is who Tn hires then Fulmer found a special deal at the dollar Tree. I guess 2 former lady vols will have completely destroyed what Pat built.

Excellent, insightful post!

Each candidate should be asked to expound upon any perceived weaknesses and past mistakes. They should be able to confidently sell their vision for the LV future and how they plan to accomplish that. Phil needs to do his advance research for each candidate.

I don't want to see Kellie have a bad experience here, don't want to go through another former LV heartbreak. I don't want her to be seen as Fulmer's cover for going cheap. Fortunate for him an affordable mid-major whose team just went on a cinderella tourney run happens to be a beloved LV. Plus there's such a big task to get this ox out of the ditch.

Maybe Kellie can be the next next coach.

The best part of a Kellie hire will be knowing that one won't to sit by "fans" hoping that the Lady Vols will fail.

Well this may be a first, even for Tennessee fans! So Kellie has completely destroyed what Pat built before she's even taken the job. Your credibility on her is sure to be high.

Ah yes, the other extreme. Kellie's hire would be a clean sweep for the exclusiveists. Female and LV family first, coaching chops second. Props, you guys appeared to have carried the day.

Hopefully KJH can navigate all the bs and have a successful run, looks like that's where we're heading. I think alot of her and would hate for her to have a bad experience. IMO its going to be important to know the Walz story, and it better be that he was just playing us for a raise (so he is that guy we worried about!) and not that Phil wouldn't ante up. Can PF just tell Hyams to tweet that? I'll feel alot better.

I agree w this. BUT, I would be disappointed if CPF was NOT interviewing her. He should have a host of coaches to interview. He should build a coach board just like a recruiting board. Then get the best one that he possibly can. She may be #11 on the list, but the stone needs to be turned nonetheless.

This is all uncharted territory of course. Seeing that were used to hiring an unproven assistant before even picking up the phone to guage any possible interest. And that from the #1 (at the time) program in the nation. 😯

hmmm lets see a young coach in football that could be here for many years and kellie is young and maybe be here for 30 years so maybe phil is gonna put good young coaches in place so he don't have much worry about looking for a lot of years. also for those who chastise kellie for not winning at other places look at the players she had.

The Tennessee job would be the perfect job for Gail Goestenkors to get back into the college game and show everyone that lightning CAN strike in the same place twice. She was amazing at Duke, and I feel like, at 56, she’s old enough and widely experienced enough to be able to hit the floor running, but not TOO old to be too close to retirement.

I could see her wanting to close her career out knowing what it feels like to be appreciated by an AD and a fanbase, and to pick up a couple of natties along the way.

Why are we still looking for coaches/ex players from the golden era when the game has clearly done a 360 on Lady vol basketball . While were playing ball like its 1999 still other teams have adjusted to the new age style of play. Bringing jolly just doesn't seem as competitive .
