A lot of coaches contracts require them to actively seek employment in a similar position to keep getting the buyout. Then, if he gets another job, the payment from the old job is reduced by the same amount as the pay from the new job.At that price tag he’s getting, I’m not sure you could convince me to ever go back into the profession.

I don't know if that's the case for jimbo, heck a&m is so stupid that they probably will just pay him the full amount to go away.
Problem is the guy can’t coach. He had Bowden’s players and assistants when he took over at FSU, won a title and then that program began its descent into the abyss. He jumped ship and A&M thought they were pulling a fast one by hiring him away. Jimbo proceeded to do so little with so much talent it’s embarrassing. I wouldn’t want him near this program, but if someone is dumb enough to hire him…they can have at it.Jimbo will resurface and do very well at another school. I always enjoyed his press conferences. North Carolina could be a good spot for him or Arkansas. Would hate to see him at South Carolina. The man can recruit.
He won the NC three years after Bowden was forced out. Made it into the CFP 4 years after. It's not accurate to say those were Bowden's playersProblem is the guy can’t coach. Urban hasn't coached in college since 2018. He's never coached in the NIL/portal era.Probably, but I’d take it. Get 5-6 great years. Maybe have a chance at a natty or two. He’s head and shoulders above anyone else they could get right now.
I actually disagree that it takes that long to get a program on solid ground. If you hire the "right coach," there are very obvious steps that the coach is moving forward after just a couple of years. Especially in this current era of the Portal. We're talking about a football team made up, overall, of a couple hundred individuals. It isn't a giant corporation of 200k people that moves like a cruise ship.People are so entitled and impatient. It takes a decade to get a program on solid ground. Kentucky has proven that with Stoops.
He would be incredible. He’s 59 and probably has 8-10 years left in him. If he’s interested, it’s a complete no-brainer.Urban hasn't coached in college since 2018. He's never coached in the NIL/portal era.
He was only out of it for about 2 years when he went to Ohio State. It's been 5 years now. I'm sure he's still a good coach but he's probably not the old Urban Meyer anymore.
