How many conference titles and BCS bowl appearances does this staff have in total? Who succeeded in the pros? Chaney did well enough to get run the Hell out of St. Louis and back into the college game. Oh, I forgot. Chuck Smith was the assistant defensive line coach for the Jets. Awesome resume.
I think Chuck Smith will eventually be a top flight defensive line coach. He's not now. Chaney's good, but nothing to get all fired up about.Hat I usually agree with you, and I agree with you that heart does not = BCS titles, but man you got to give these guys a chance. Smith is young and has mentored some pretty solid players in the league. Chaney does have a proven track record in CFB, nobody could have won in St. Louis with that team. Wilcox has done some impressive things with Boise State against solid opponents. Baggett has an EXCELLENT resume.
They are the Coaches and us complaining will not change anything. At least see what these Coaches do next year before we start predicting their resignation dates.
What is this idea that I have to give a failed coach from a jerkwater conference a shot? I don't. I'm not going to. It took three years too long to get Fulmer ousted because people sat back and said "give him a chance to turn it around." That's not a mistake I see any benefit in repeating.
The entire staff combined has fewer major bowl appearances than Ed Orgeron. Yeah, that proves I'm wrong.
