Love this Dooley quote

Yeah, Russell Maryland, Warren Sapp, Danny Stubbs, et al, those guys just coached themselves in college.

Boom! That's not even comparable to guys paying Smith to coach them. These guys volunteered for it. Way different.

What offer did Chuck Smith have to use as leverage? Going back to being Rex Ryan's towel boy for another year?

Exactly he had none! Why else would he come work here with DD stinking up the joint. He was desperate obviously.

He got paid by the best players in the NFL, and volunteered to coach some of the best players in college. Chuck made a living in the NFL prior to being a coach, do you remember that?? Ed Orgeron sure beat down the NFL doors by playing at the perennial powerhouse of Northwestern State, Louisiana.

This whole argument can be solved by saying one of two things.

1. I love / loved Kiffin so much , and no one else can fill the void I now have in my soul.
or
2. Im going to at least give Dooley a chance.

I believe I know where Hatvol stands.

Translation: The guy has had exactly one half assed coaching job in his career.

He's saying it from the unemployment line.

Exactly and not for the USC Trojans like the rest of the staff we should have had. I'm telling you people soilent green is made of people and debating Hat is futile.

No he's not, he's the DL coach at Clemson. Come on hat, your slipping. :)
Working there is the same as being unemployed. Also, Steve Caldwell coached the ends, so Brooks doesn't get credit for all of UT's defensive line guys in the NFL during Fulmer's tenure.

Spot on. Come on guys he works for DD meaning the man is no good by definition, stop trying to defend.

Get a life, do you want to get a room with the guy or what?

Not hardly. I think Hat is wrong in this case. However, he always brings something to the discussion unlike 99% of the posters on this site.

There were guys paying him to coach them, not exactly sure that makes you half-assed.
So the NBA should start hiring all the guys running the various draft time workout houses to be coaches? The NFL should start hiring all these track guys who work with guys to get their 40 times down for the combine. I mean, that's obviously better than being an actual coach.
