So the NBA should start hiring all the guys running the various draft time workout houses to be coaches? The NFL should start hiring all these track guys who work with guys to get their 40 times down for the combine. I mean, that's obviously better than being an actual coach.

Not at all. The Israeli guy Carmelo who works Carmelo out in the summer should be hired to coach the Bulls. Then, the NFL should hire the speed guys whose players performed best at the combine. Actually having been a coach is overrated.

Yeah, I can't wait for the coaching career of Ben Roethlisberger. Having won multiple Super Bowls, he'll revolutionize the game.
Why not hire the guy as an assistant, IF he knows what he's doing?? People wouldn't be going to him if he didn't. Your not making much sense.
I think Smith will prove to be a very good coach. However, Ed O he is not.

Translation: "My claims to fame are that my father rode Herschel Walker's coattails to being the most overrated coach in SEC history and my mother is a loudmouthed Paula Deen wannabe. I couldn't stay ahead of Idaho in the WAC. So, I'll dumb down expectations regarding recruiting by playing to the orange overall wearing clowns who think "heart" trumps talent. That way, I can make it seem the mediocre rosters I assemble are the result of design and not rank incompetence."
