LSU, Oregon, and Oregon State require vaccine or negative test to attend football games [merged]

That's right pull the Socialist card from the bottom of the card. When you can't justify the stance you are making and realize that you are wrong, just call the other person a socialist and pat yourself on the back. It's not you, it's everybody else. Just an FYI - the auto industry, the farming industry, the airlines, the education system, heck the public library and post office.................... all "socialist" ideas
Dude you are what you are. It’s obvious you want big gov. I justified my stance over and over. Have you look up the effectiveness of the flu vaccine from 2019? 2018? Or are you waiting on big gov to spoon feed you

So you are telling me you have to have paperwork or covid ID to go to a game but having an ID to vote is suppression. When only 24% of the Afro American community is vaccinated how is this not a form of segregation and suppression of freedoms. Simple answer…..its segregated. You want Australia rules, move
And here's the irony of your statement: The government wants to dictate having a vaccine to go about day to day functions. Yet, they will NEVER require a vaccination card to vote, why? Because Black and Hispanics are less likely to get the vaccine compared to any other race. How do they vote? Historically they vote the Democratic ticket. Hypocrisy and control runs deep, and we've allowed it!

I will give you this much... If a person knowingly has Covid and goes to a game, they are 100% in the wrong.
Common ground. We are making progress. I think someone that has been exposed should not be going, either. Do you agree with that? If so then our only disagreement deals with someone that does not know they have it or exposed to it. That is why I think this requirement of LSU will be helpful. Will it be 100% effective, no but it will certainly slow the spread and get us back to some normalcy which I think we all want.

Golden Rule is "do unto others as you would have them do unto to you." It is not "I have the gold (i.e. personal freedoms and rights) so I can do whatever I want to regardless of the impact on others."

Just my point of view, I believe we have a moral contract with our neighbors and citizens to do right by them.

Read carefully....... it is important aspect of comprehension. Never said it did.

If you have COVID you should not go to a football game. Being vaccinated or unvaccinated is irrelevant to that discussion. Being as that is the case what LSU is doing does absolutely nothing for public safety.

So now the LSU Athletic Department is big government? You are losing credibility there. We are not even talking about the Flu shot, but if the flu was as deadly as COVID and it reduced the spread rate by half or even less and hospitals were overrun with Flu patients where a car wreck victim or heart attack patient can't get treated, then yes the LSU Athletic Department should insist on you having a Flu shot before you get into Tiger Stadium.

We would never know, but I'd be curious what happens with Mr. or Ms. Big Money Donor doesn't want to be vaccinated or provide a test. Do they not get to attend the game? Are their donations returned? What about the top rated prospect who is scheduled to visit and either him or her and/or their parents aren't vaccinated and don't want to submit to a test. Are they told, "see-ya later." Same with parents of players. Listen, I'm vaccinated as is my family. We weighed the costs and benefits and decided to go ahead. I am 100 pct against mandates, thought.

See but they think differently than you. They have been advised by doctors that this is a good course of action to prevent the spread on their campus and in their community. So they have evidence that disagrees with that assertion and is based on logic and medicine. I will stand with them rather than you, who has no idea what you are speaking of.

Welcome to Nazi America. Where the government creates a virus and then forces you to take their vaccine to participate in social events. Isn't it great. Don't yall feel so free and so American.

A previous thread on this topic was deleted.

Before it happens again... this is a ridiculous surrender of privacy rights and civil liberties. The demands are made on false information and narratives concerning the virus.
Unfortunately, this decision is based on scientific dat which have been gathered from all over the World and is the best decision if fans are going to be attending football games. This Country is based on a number of laws, rules, regulations, at the Federal State and Local levels. If one violates those laws, rules, and regulations, one can expect to suffer a consequence of not obeying such. This in no way violates ones civil rights or liberties. It is no different than seat belt laws, speeding laws, stopping at traffic lights laws, murder laws , or, in fact, paying pay taxes laws . It is part of our society and we are fortunate to live in a Country where we have Su+h laws rules and regulations.

If you seriously believe they are doing this for public safety and not just for theater you are lost.

Missing the point in its entirety. You judging the effectiveness of the education system is not the same thing as whether it is funded and required by the government. That is a socialist idea. Taking money from workers and giving it to a government to support a system that has no direct benefit to the person that may have been taxed equals socialism. But it works. What people are complaining about are socialist ideas that they don't like.

While your education, clearly, was not what it should have been. Mine was. I thank you. My parents thank you. My kids thank you. My siblings thank you. In fact all of America thinks you for educating our population with tax dollars. I'll send you a thank you card if you give me your address.

You mean like the hospitals flooded with covid ICU patients that are 98% unvac folks?
No. I mean like the efficacy of the vaccines and the fact that an Israeli study showed that 40% of Covid cases discovered through comprehensive screening were fully vaccinated people. Several studies now show that fully vaccinated people can spread the virus readily to both vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Claims of vaccinated infections in the US are not reliable since we only test those who are part of a work testing program or experience symptoms.

The same study of 7000 Covid positive people (along with a growing number of studies around the world) revealed that those who have developed anti-bodies due to previous infection have immunity BETTER than any of the vaccines alone. Reinfections comprised only 1% of the new Israeli infections. But chances are... you know none of this. You've been told that everyone needs to be vaccinated and that the unvaccinated simply by being unvaccinated pose a threat to others. That's untrue...and those leading you to believe it know it is untrue.

So if only 1% of those who have naturally acquired immunity are prone to reinfection AND the ability to spread the virus... why should they be discriminated against for choosing not to take a virus that offers little additional protection and may harm them?

They've also been deceptive about the durability of naturally acquired immunity. They've suggested 90 days. I had it in January and still have antibodies. A study from STL documented a subject group that maintained immunity in each member after 11 months.

I love when seat belt laws are brought up. They should not exist just like helmet laws for motorcycles. It isn't the governments job to decide what risks I should be able to take in my personal life.

I choose to live free with as little government as possible and will fight for that for all people. You choose to succumb to the man

Succumb to the man? What in the heck does that even mean? Dude I am as free as anybody. I believe marijuanna should be legal, women should be able to do whatever they want to do with their bodies and I believe someone should marry whoever they want regardless of race, color, religion or sex. You can believe in the fundamental constitutional rights and still be in favor of everyone participating in a public event to be vaccinated. Your right to do as you please does is not superior to my right to be safe from a deadly virus.

Absolutely and utterly untrue. Do homosexuals have to present proof they're not HIV positive to get a job?

And no, it is not "science". It is politics and has been. See my post above about naturally acquired immunity. If you have had Covid then it is VERY unlikely you need the vaccine. At best, a vaccination of a person with naturally acquired immunity improves their reinfection risks from 99% to 99.5%. If a person is 99% immune and cannot spread the virus... they're not the problem. OTOH, it is well known now that fully vaccinated people can have mild symptoms and be significant spreaders without knowing it.

Does the vaccine prevent a person from acquiring Covid or spreading it?

Their attendance will suck then. Whatever. Hey the good news is, we've eradicated flu, the common cold and no one is dying of cancer. Biggest scam ever perpetrated on mankind. Run on out and get that jab, that's your choice, and anyone not wanting it it's theirs. The testing is faulty and always has been. The crap will never end with the mass testing still going on..

LSU should also require proof that the fans don't have Ebola or West Nile Virus as well then correct?

And you keep going back to this by the way. You keep trying to equate that someone else being vaccinated somehow protects you from catching COVID. It does not.

My right not to be in a car accident then supersedes the right to smoke pot, right? The right we have to not have HIV spread across the population supersedes the right of homosexual men to have sex, right? I have a right to demand you take a flu shot, right? Your car might be stolen and run over me... so you should surrender your right to own a car right?

You may think this is "ridiculous"... but no more than your demand that others take a vaccine that may harm them so you can "feel safe". The propaganda... has worked on you. And as Twain I believe said... it is much easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled.

Taken directly from the CDC website. I know you think its some hippy commie rag now full of socialists and foreigners. P.S. It is not they are scientists and doctors!

COVID 19-vaccines are effective. They can keep you from getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.

I will ask this in the simplest way I know how. Can someone who has been vaccinated spread COVID?
