Were you aware that when the last guy left, nearly all our playmakers and solid recruits left with him, leaving the current guy to essentially rebuild an entire program, and within those three years he’s 27-12? Because that’s pretty fantastic considering the circumstances.I wasn’t aware we won any championships.
You can if it’s giving results that are necessary for the next step. We went 11-2 last year and then 8-4 this year because we’re now seeing the repercussions of Pruitt’s last recruiting class that saw a majority of it bolt along with him. So I’m going to be realistic and hold my judgements for the next two years in terms of recruiting and how it develops. Can't have the #1 ranked NIL and a recruiting class out of the top 10. If we went 11-1 and were paying to keep the team together it would be different but 8-4 doesn't make me feel great about it.
Development takes time, but that's a luxury we don't have. Year one of Nico is here and we can't wait. Sad that we have what might be a generational talent at QB and we're in a position like this...at the University of Tennessee.People need to get a grip. Georgia started a former walk-on at QB deeper than Year 4 in Kirby's stint at UGA. It didn't seem to bring their program crashing down. There is an amazing amount of group-think on this board that none of our players develop at all once they step on campus. If a freshman or sophomore isn't starting, that means they're a bust and they'll never be able to improve and contribute.

And by that time, Nico will likely be gone. Regardless of what Pruitt did or didn't do, Heupel has had time to recruit and he's had the portal. It's not like this is year 1. Heupel has what appears to be a class of OL recruits that are poor evals. That's on him. Hey, if Nico gets beat to death next year, the portal goes both ways. UT fans can't be upset if he pulls the trigger and moves on.You can if it’s giving results that are necessary for the next step. You should reverse your tagline quote…And by that time, Nico will likely be gone. Regardless of what Pruitt did or didn't do, Heupel has had time to recruit and he's had the portal. This is the main reason I think we should be heavily involved in the portal. We’ve got a 3 year window to make a run, IMO.And by that time, Nico will likely be gone. Lol I’m happy with the results on the field, but also concerned about our OL holding us back over the these next 2 Nico years. It’s not an either/or thing, but carry on.AP does not know those types of things.
And you feel free to be concerned. I’ll be happy with the results on the field which have been rather fantastic!
When there's an entire season where it's a problem, it's too late. Tennessee isn't going for multiple transfer OL because Dayne Davis has a shot at being championship level at starter(the goal of this program). Stop it.I’m not claiming to know anything nor using it as a point in this debate.
There hasn’t a been a problem. We’ve gotten great production from OL. When we have a season where that doesn’t happen then it’ll be a problem.
It is 8 months until our first game and the former walk-on might not even be starting. Those “unnamed sophomores” can develop. There’s another portal window as well. And even if he does start, that’s not a problem unless he’s bad next season.
All fine and well, but that's the past. Best to live in the here and now and get this roster ready for year 1 of the Nico era. We’ve won 11 games and 9 games the last 2 years with a promising young QB being given the keys to the offense.
There are only like 9-10 other programs in the country that have had that type of success over the last 2 seasons.
Feels like an excellent position to be in.
You would have a point if this was the end of the transfer portal, but it’s not so you make absolutely no sense but be my guest and continue complaining about the roster when it is not even set for Fall yet…When there's an entire season where it's a problem, it's too late. Tennessee isn't going for multiple transfer OL because Dayne Davis has a shot at being championship level at starter(the goal of this program). Stop it.
Why are you in the recruiting forum if problems aren't problems until they are in season problems? That's lazy ff energy. Miss me with that.
"That rusty valve under the kitchen sink isn't an issue until water is spewing out of it. I won't replace it until that moment."
