LSU won the title.....

Clark did the exact same gesture against Maryland, nobody had an issue. Reese returns the favor and people lose their minds. What other reason one was controversial and the other
Not if not for race?

Well, Clark did it in a flash from across the court to no person in particular and nobody really knew about it. Reese did it in her face for a good 10" plus the ring point and everybody knows about ir, so it's quite different plus info asymmetry. I'm sure for some people it's about race but not for everybody.

Clark also **** talked with 8' left. She didn’t wait til the game was in hand

If I slap you and you stab me then yes it matters how you returned it lol. Not sure it's even a "return" since no one even did anything to Angel Reese at all, as far as we know

That's not how anything works lmao, you can't shoot someone for looking at you the wrong way under the theory that they "started ****"

Exactly.. but, that's America!!

Clark did it in LSU game? If so, it was a very brief gesture and she didn't do it in anyone's
face. Reese spent 30 seconds deliberately taunting Clark, very close to her--and being ghetto. Big difference.

Did anyone do anything to Clark to warrant her gesture? I see no video of someone gesturing to her or the team to warrant her t doing it in the first place. You can say it wasn’t in anyone’s face but the fact is it was done for a purpose which was unsportsmanlike and classless. Now Reese gestures were excessive than hers but Clark was as wrong and the way it was done by Reese doesn’t makes Clark’s gesture ok and insignificant. The real shame is this situation getting more play than it should because other people feelings are hurt that had nothing to do with the situation.People are so upset because she did what she did plus winning the championship had she won the semifinal and did that and lost the championship it wouldn’t hurt some people as much

Wrong is wrong you shouldn’t defend neither one. There is no rule to which they have to be alike

If you listen to Kim’s and Dawn’s post game interviews they show no respect for the game and are classless. Mulkey was also Griner’s coach when she cheap shot another girl and broke her noise and other bones in her face to end that girls season. Seems like there’s a common denominator!!! Change my mind….. Unfortunately now days those are the type of programs top recruits want to play for because that stuff is acceptable and cool on social media. Why is Uconn not as dominant as years past because Geno coaches the right way and it’s not flashy on social media but he’s the same coach he was in years past. I’m old school and still believe in respect the game and I’ll stand behind Killie as she coaches with respect and if that gives the Vols a few less wins I’m willing to accept that. Part of being a coach is turning young athletes into respectable adults and I might be bias but I believe Tennessee is doing a good job of that.

Dude, wtf. Just read my 3 posts and you'd save yourself a breathless rant.

Honestly, I don't think anybody would be saying anything about what Clark did if the Reese thing didn't happen because it was pretty innocuous, but still on the side of bad sportsmanship. Nobody would bat an eye if a mens player did it.

Just be patient and give it time. Every team I have ever followed in my 57 years't has experienced the mountain top at some point, but also had their share of the valleys. I feared the football team would never be relevant again in my lifetime, yet here I am counting the days till it's football time in Tennessee. Don't despair. The big orange magic will happen again.
You are right. I was beginning to think the football program was dead also. Danny White changed that. Maybe he can change the womans basketball program as well. And it may not be by a coaching change.

That was my fault I replied to the wrong one so I will apologize

Sure, McReese's was literally more in your face about it but the you can't see me gesture to another team, like "you are too small," is still "taunting". Its sports, taunting, trash talk, personal hostilities happen all the time, no reason to turn either scenario into a national crisis. Much worse passes in the men's game without any eye brows being raised in shock and outrage.
Exactly…I didn’t really have a problem with it. The only odd thing to me about the whole incident was that Reese went after Clark for something she did in an entirely different game. I mean, unless Clark was taunting the LSU players or Reese during the game and I missed it.

But to your point…this happens all the time in the men’s game and no one blinks an eye.

I knew LSU winning would have the Baylor and Maryland boards in shambles for obvious reasons but the Duke and Tennessee boards being shambles too are interesting.

Are you kidding? LSU winning is all kinds of terrible for this board.

First, the real negative, hateful ones are going to throw LSU and Mulkey in everyone's face all summer, and even next fall. "But but but Mulkey," all the time. They'll probably even talk down about our own players and praise LSU's players, because reasons. That'll be real fun.

Second, even after the first problem, LSU has stepped ahead of Tennessee in both chasing South Carolina's consistency and in threatening to win national titles - at least for the next season. The top of the mountain in the SEC has two programs to deal with, instead of just one. So that's not great either.

LSU winning was never going to be good for this board.

Clark and Haley Van Lith were going back and forth that entire game.

"Other people's feelings getting hurt that had nothing to do with the situation" is a good way to describe Angel Reese getting mad about the Louisville game that didn't involve her and the South Carolina game that didn't involve her, when no one as far as we know actually did anything to Angel Reese

Is it so difficult to grasp Clark makes it part of her game to gesture and trash talk when she's on top but has difficulty when the shoe is on the other foot? Chances are Mulkey made it part and parcel of her preparation for playing for the title against Clark and Iowa a full video of gestures and comments Clark has made to show the LSU players what to expect. IF she did, it certainly fired her team up and they took it to "the face of women's college basketball next year" yeah like that's going to happen. Look there's nothing wrong with trash talking if that motivates you and your team but you have to back it up and there ALWAYS comes a day when your trash talk motivates the other team and that crow doesn't go down easy.
