Mack Brown out at Texas

Meh, the two could co-exisit. Stick Mack in an office and give him a title like "Associate Director of Texas Athletics Public Relations Dept." and allow him to make appearances at booster club events and do some programming for the LHN. He can glad hand the $ folks and kiss babies. Take a few snap shots every once in a while with him and Saban to put out on social media. It gives everyone the perception of a united front and keeps him occupied.

We did it here with RC. Its not that hard to do.

Go Saban! :post-4-1090547912:

This is hilarious!

I've got this feeling Les Miles will be involved here. He did great in that conference before LSU.

Besides Tennessee, LSU is my favorite job in the conference. No in-state competition and the best high school talent per capita in America. LSU will always bring in top 10 recruiting classes, and it doesn't take a lot of effort.

If Saban does not take the Texas job, I think they might make a hard push for Mike Tomlin or David Shaw.

Why would u think them and not others??

They'd make a harder push for Harbough then Shaw if they were smart.

I know this is going to be a touchy subject, but not imo UTX isn't ready to make the black HC move. Agree or disagree..hate it or not...dont yell at me for saying it. They are just not there yet imo.

Again...throwing names out of good coaches isn't going to work for this position.

I'm hearing the Shanahan/son combo is sounding nice. Also, think he could someone like Kubiak (if he could swallow being at utx) with him to be a positions coach or something. Help mold the son. Briles is sounding nice to people but doubts he would leave Baylor.

Lol

I think Franklin is the only one on the list that would accept that kind of money, hence the post.

I'm not sure what Franklin makes currently so I couldn't say. Getting out of the constraints of coaching at a school like Vandy maybe be worth it. Franklin oddly reminds me of Billy Clyde Gillispie. Should he take it if offered, tu may be Franklin's "Kentucky" if that makes sense.

The next coach at tu will not make a measly 4 million per year.

I think any agent worth their salt will point to Mack's current salary and say "now look guys, your last coach was making this much. My guy is worth at least that much."

If Franklin leaves, I can see Petrino replacing him and just think how Vandy fans would react to that.

Honestly I think that CBP would be obe heck of a hire for Vandy and would actually be a major upgrade from CJF. Also he would probably be able to assemble quite the staff and he is a monster on tje recruiting trail. He would have Vandy fans saying James who?

Did he really recruit that well? I thought his classes were average at best. Could be wrong. He gets the most out his players that's for sure.

Regardless, not sure Vandy would go the route of a coach with character issues with this rape scandal still hanging over the program.

I have read so much message board chatter about Franklin when people are discussing job openings but has any program actually contacted him? If not, could the rape scandal be playing a part in that?

104.5 in Nashville said he was contacted by USC just to gauge interest, and the radio guys speculated that the rape case still being open and unknown was a negative against him - tifwiw

That's funny in two parts. Vandy fans should be singular, as in Vandy fan. As for Vandy alumni accepting BP as head coach? Ridiculous.

I still find it rather funny how some folks make fun of Vandy...while Vandy has kicked our ass the last 2 years...and took us down to the wire the year before that...

Ignorance is bliss, I guess (insert how FABULOUS our upcoming recruiting class is *@ this point* HERE)
