and then trees die.
Austin (CBS HOUSTON) A source tells SportRadio 610 that if Mack Brown does not resign as University of Texas football coach before a Board of Regents meeting on Thursday he will be removed from the position. No date was provided on when that removal would happen.
That same source tells SportsRadio 610 that Brown, 62, was prepared to resign this week after 16 seasons as the Longhorns head football coach, but was not happy when news of the story leaked before he could tell his players and coaching staff. It is expected that he will resign, but if he doesnt, the Board of Regents needs a majority of its members to vote for his ouster, and SportsRadio 610 has been told they have the votes.
I think the ship has sailed for Nuss, at least for this year. And if Kirby stayed at Bama, Saban would simply promote Greg Brown.
You would know a lot more about the staff there than I would pretend to know. But assuming Kirby was promoted would some of the staff stay with him at Bama (specifically on D). It would kinda seem like a domino effect if he keep a few and they got raises or promotions.
I would think Saban would probably have to hire a handful of guys at the least.
Off the defensive staff, I think Thompson and Brown would certainly go with Saban. Rumph might stay with Smart. I think Saban would be hiring fewer guys than Smart would. I think the biggest replacement Saban would have to make is S&C Coach Scott Cochran. I think Cochran would stay at Bama.
No, I don't. I think Sexton is going to take whatever Texas offers back to Bill Battle to get the most out of Bama's checkbook. And he will succeed.
