I understand what you're saying. However, I feel that it's my civic duty as a Vol to make fun of Vandy, their douche bag coach, their high school stadium, and their 3 fans as long as i have breath.

So you are telling me I cant make fun of Bama or UF either? I simply will not stop. Certainly not with Vandy. We have lost to them two straight years, yes, but we still know they are a joke.

Texas could be playing this perfectly by leaving Mack dangling to see if they can get a Saban, Harbaugh, Rockne, Lombardi, Landry,Gibbs etc....
But it would be hilarious to me if they fired mack and wound up not getting any of those big time names

An OB source has confirmed that Nick Saban has initiated the vetting process of trying to see what a staff at Texas might look like.

From everything I've read, I'm willing to guess the timeline looks like this:

Announcment on Mack from him or the President after the BOR their meeting concludes today. I would guess it'd make 6pm SportsCenter.

Formal press conference tomorrow with Mack getting his time to say adios.

Speculation on Saban takes over all sports media outlets for the entire freaking weekend.

Rumors get better late Sunday.

Monday theres a leak on it.

Tuesday, Saban steps down at Bama.

Here's what he said. He normally does not post rumors or conjecture, only the occasional smokescreen.


1. A source told us this morning that Mack Brown has indicated to close friends that he's tired of the fighting and has reached the point where he will announce that he is stepping away in the next couple of days.

We'll check to see if the word has started to spread to members of the coaching staff and athletic department, but this was based off of information obtained last night.

2. Also, a separate source confirmed to Orangebloods this morning that Nick Saban has started the vetting process of seeing what type of staff he would be able to put together in Austin. I can't really get into any more detail than that, but there's enough consideration to say the least about the Texas job that he is exploring what kind of staff he would be able to bring with him if he were to take the Texas job.

I can't see them letting more than 24 hours pass from Brown stepping down/fired and announcing Saban as HC.

No way to keep that quite more than that.

That's huge news imo. This guy is very credible when it comes to Texas football from what I've read about him.
