LawGator stays off this board for a few days after we defeat the Gators.
I come as close to crying as humanly possible if we lose to UGA and VANDY. :banghead:
That's all I could post right now.I'm too concerned about my number two prediciton.

I guaran-damn-tee you that if you beat Florida I will be here posting away.

Probably about how we got screwed by the officiating. Again.

Well, last year I set goals to show more generosity to the downtrodden and more tolerance to the foolish. So, I figured coming on here and imparting an occassional kernel of wisdom would kill two birds with one stone. Er ... kernel.

Make a deal with you LG.If you quit whinning about our officiating (time clock in particular), I'll not bring up the gun incident that the Gator College administration turned a deaf ear to, what they felt was insignificant and apparently deemed non-important, thus shocking the rest of the country, failing to set national precedent. :biggrin2:

1) Tennessee will go to a bowl game.
2) No way SoCal will finish in the top 10.
3) ND has got the toughest schedule next to Florida.
4) Oklahoma National Championship hope went down the tube.
5) And oh yea, Tennessee is going to kill Vandy.

1. Arian Foster gains 183 yards on 22 carries in opener against Cal and is benched for the remainder of the game for fear that his feet will spontaneously combust.
2. Notre Dame finishes season with losing record and Brady Quinn wins Heistman.
3. Trooper Taylor dislocates no fewer than 3 fingers high-fiving receivers after great plays. Fulmer demands he quit doing that in the future before he breaks something on Meacham... Or Smith... Or...
4. David Cutclliffe's name is submitted unexpectedly for canonization due to unusually high number of miracles witnessed in front of hundreds of thousands of people throughout the season. Cutcliffe credits helmets that actually fit the offensive lineman for the turnaround.
5. The first time Tennessee has a 3rd down and greater than 10 yards to go, we will run a draw.

Lay me some odds on this. I almost guarantee they will.

3) ND has got the toughest schedule next to Florida.

Florida doesn't have the toughest schedule in the nation, nor is ND even close to the toughest.

Hilarious to see a Gators fan complaining about officiating....exactly how long did Jabar Gaffney "possess" the ball at the end of the 2000 game?

As one might say to Howie Mandel, "No Deal!!!"

For one thing, my right to bitch about that HORRIBLE sequence of events in the "Clock Game" is in the Constitution.

For another, I am right there with you about the gun incident. I thought that was handled very poorly.

1. Tennessee Volunteers lose only once to LSU in an OT loss by a field goal
2. Stanford goes 10-1 after last years 5-6, losing only to USC
3. JoePa announces retirement before the end of the 06 season
4. Weiss and ND lose 4 games this season
5. Nebraska wins the big 12, upsetting Texas
Whats up big D?I hope all of the guesses are correct minus the UT loss to LSU.

After today's scrimmage, I make my 5 predictions:

1. We lose to Cal on opening day -- I hope I am wrong on this one
2. We don't lose another until LSU
3. Arkansas gives us a scare
4. We lose in SEC Championship to Auburn
5. We win against Big Ten Foe in Outback Bowl

1. Vols suffer from a Crompton-Ainge quarterback quandry when they slip to 2-3.
2. Houston Nutt's Hog's suck and he takes heat for turning Hog's offense over to a high school coach.
3. Jerry Faust has a relapse of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome after reading about Hog's woes.
4. Shaeffer is mediocre and whines about too much being expected of him.
5. Chris Leak ends college career in UT game with torn ACL.

If you are correct about 1 and 2, there will be a fiercely competitive bidding war for Butch Davis at the end of the season.

Ah, a fan of mediocrity are you? You're right. I can't imagine why UT would want the architect of the best college team of the last 15 years.

His first 3 years at Miami

1995 8-3 6-0 2-3 6-1
1996 9-3 3-3 5-0 6-1 1-0 (Carquest Bowl)
1997 5-6 3-3 2-3 3-4

After that 3rd season, you wouldn't be calling for his head???
PLEASE

And Miami didn't win a NC during his tenure, it was Coker who has had the success.

1. He inherited a team on probation.
2. Check out Miami's record in 2000. I think that qualifies as success.
3. Exactly how successful has Coker been after all the players Butch recruited vacated Coral Gables?

In his 5 years at Miami he had 20 losses. Erickson and Coker have combined for 18 losses in 9 years. I think you are suffering from a revisionist memory.

So, Butch Davis is the best coach in your book because he put together 1 great team? Yet, Fulmer is mediocre? Fulmer not only was the architect behind the '98 team, he also coached the team to the National Title. Davis still has a bolo in the National Championships column, and only a career winning percentage of .718...

Given that I live about a 10 minute drive from the campus of the "U", I'll venture that I have considerably more insight into the Miami program than you do.
I'll address your contention with some quick bullet points:
1. Jimmy Johnson handed Dennis Erickson a Ferrari. By the end of his tenure, he had turned it into a wrecked Camaro.
2. There isn't a Miami fan alive who wouldn't trade Coker for Butch right now. Everyone knows that Coker simply did the same thing as Erickson. He simply had to stay out of the way in '01 and '02. Left to his own devices, he has now run the program into the ditch.
3. If you don't realize there's a difference between what JJ handed Dennis the Drunk and what Butch inherited, you're suffering from a cognitive disconnect with reality.
