I understand events were unfolding when he went to NYC last night, but I think I can speak for a majority of Americans when I say his place was back at the White House monitoring the situation instead of $30,000 a plate dinners.

And I say that as a non-partisan statement because even if the person had an (R) behind their name the situation needed their undivided attention.

If a dead ambassador and navy seals didn't get his attention why should he care now?

I think the only way we can destroy this kind of culture is to destroy the de facto two-party system altogether. Unfortunately, that ain't gonna happen. Too many powerful people have too much money invested in both sides. The only thing that would stop it now would be some sort of revolution. Call me crazy, but it's true.

I'm tired of these two ****storms running our national politics. I like to harass him (mostly just for kicks), but I agree with Rasputin that we're not as free as we think we are. We need more legitimate party options. I'm talking about ones that can actually be elected and not just run a token campaign.

Rebel fires warning shot over heads of OSCE int'l observers at Flight MH17 scene; says they were told not to go toward tail of plane.

Wow, just wow.

What would you call them? Legitimate protests took place for about two weeks or so in eastern Ukraine, then armed men (most of them from Russia) started showing up, taking over government buildings. They've had no pretensions to even negotiate with Kiev, despite their rhetoric.

Meanwhile, on planet Earth, the Maidan took months and months to unfold. Men with clubs, not Kalashnikovs, Grad launchers, and tanks. They disposed a tyrant who had been pulling from the state coffers. And his sorry rear fled to Russia, who had been supporting him, just as long as he towed the company line.

If these Russian *******s would get their sorry rears back across the border, where they belong, we might be able to negotiate a settlement. Perhaps even some sort of federalization policy. Too late now. Putin's Posse, as they should be known, has stirred **** up too much. And he isn't complaining at all.

Obviously the completely misunderstood freedom loving peaceful separatists, duh.

It must really be hard hating one's country like some do.

A Russian's idea of freedom is having a fellow Russian crack the lash against his back rather than a foreigner. That's about it.

Changing gears, why is there confusion as to how many Americans were on board? I saw 23 yesterday, now they can only confirm "at least one."

Where is the disconnect?

The 23 number came from the Ukrainian Interior Minister, probably hoping to gain some major sympathy points from the US I would suppose.

Bullies do what billies do. Putin is a bully in a world filled with weak kneed leaders. Prime conditions as far as he is concerned.

I forgot calling them terrorists doesn't fit in with his Kremlin propaganda talking points. I mean they just shot down a fricking civilian airliner.

Your post just made me think about how RT and Russian state TV might spin this after an international inquiry determines Russian complicity.

First of all, they will call it a fascist conspiracy. After that, they will claim that Malaysia Airlines is a fascist conspiracy to take over the world. They might even take credit for 370.

Oh, I thought that number was from the passenger manifest.

1 or 23, it doesn't matter. An American was murdered by TERRORISTS.

I'm pretty sure that's where everyone got the number from but I could be wrong. I remember hearing the Interior Ministry releasing that number pretty early on and was surprised that particular piece of information was released that early in the day.

Kremlin propaganda points? I'm trying to convince you guys that this is all being set up to get us into WWIII. They have created an enemy and the media and the US govt is pushing the narrative. The US is itching to get this kicked off.

I'm not pro-Kremlin as much as I am anti-conflict. The US and media tried their best to convince us last year that we needed to go to war with Syria. They are doing the same now in Ukraine. And its all done (in both instances) to set up either a new cold war or a real hot war with Russia.

I hadn't really paid that much attention during MH370 to the timeline on when the numbers were released. And I would have figured it would have come from Malaysia Air or the USG after the families had been notified.

And now that you mention it, the exact number was a little early to put out.

Did the Syrians shoot down an unarmed civilian airliner that was traveling in an established international airway on an approved international flight plan?

I'll say this: I think the initial protests in the East after Crimea where legitimate grassroots. Perhaps even some of the armed men that first started appearing were as well, although that's getting fuzzier. By the time they had started usurping government posts and government buildings though, it was some pure FSB bull****. I'm not necessarily saying it was Spetsnaz, but I am saying it was Russian-coordinated. I mean, my god, they never really even tried to mount a legitimate protest; it was just straight to arms.

At times in history, you would probably be correct. I wouldn't put it past the US. I think at one point we even had a plan to shoot down a passenger jet over Cuba in order to invade it, or something like that. It was scrapped, needless to say.

I just think you're dead-wrong on this one.

That's some Alex Jones grade tin foil there.
