Malaysia Boeing 777

"You are underestimating two great Presidents."

Unfortunately, that only applies to one person these days.

Who? The man who intentionally blew up hundreds of his countrymen to consolidate power or the man who stutters when he speaks?

You look at RT right now, it's a news site scrambling. It's implicit, but you can see it. It would be funny as hell, provided their Messiah wasn't a complete megalomaniac *******.

It reeks of desperation.

Some fringe Ukrainian made a video poking fun at the Russians and their love of Vodka, red tape, and open faced sandwiches. It was posted on You Tube. Big mistake.

Some Ukes sympathetic to the Russian plight precipitated a riot that got out of hand. It started out small with just some small arms fire and loud bullhorns. But ended with the downing of a state of the art Boeing 777.

True story.

At this point though, without the Russians calling off their dogs, it won't matter if the Europeans and US call for a ceasefire. Like it or not, they Russians have to be the one that makes the move here.

I think there will be enough evidence to figure out what happened. Even if the Russians took back the BUK system that shot the missile and they somehow acquired the black boxes it can still be pieced together. Like we discussed last night there probably won't be much on the black boxes in terms of evidence as everything likely happened so quickly. They'll likely find explosive evidence in the wreckage.

Bodies from the other Malaysian jet that is still missing?

I've read speculation that it was the missing jet and Putin knew it, and had it shot down as it was enroute to crash in Russia.

Just some fun reading.

Before I'd heard about this most recent Malaysian Air crash, I'd just woke up yesterday and saw the thread title and brief description of it being shot down over Ukraine. I thought it was referencing the one that went missing a couple months back.

Can someone please explain to me why when the U.S. screws up and civilians die, it's a tragedy, but when Russia does it (if they did it), it's a crime?

This whole thing smack of hypocrisy IMO.

Official or not, Russia is at war with the Ukraine. It sucks. I hate to see it. But they are two independent countries. In a tragic accident, civilians were killed. Hard pill to swallow, but unfortunately innocents are often killed in war. We, the U.S., are just as guilty of having killed innocents during times of war.

We went to war with Iraq(twice), did Russia interfere? Maybe they did and I just never heard of it. What about Afghanistan? Any Russian involvement? The U.S. does not have to participate in every war on the planet.

I'm as patriotic as any other poster on VN. I support my country. I love my country. But is continually interfering in the wars of other countries in our best interest? I just don't think it is. Unless something more sinister comes to light, I think we need to sit this one out. Let Europe deal with this mess. We have enough to worry about on the homefront without giving out massive military aid around the world. And for what? A financial debt that will be forgiven in less than 10 years? Not worth it at this point IMO.

Ummm...when did we shoot down a civilian airliner from a country totally not involved in the conflict at hand?
