Manziel Being Investigated

He'd have to be monumentally stupid to just deposit that money into a bank account. If he's smart he cooperates with the NCAA, they find nothing in his bank records, and he goes on his merry way. If he refuses to cooperate, that's when he puts himself at risk.

If he's "smart", he isn't into half the crap he's been into this offseason. You can only use the excuse of "being a 20 year old kid" so many times before people see it for what it is. Just an excuse.

Translation: We ask for this stuff, but we can't make you provide it. If you choose not to, we will operate under the notion that you have something to hide.

I can assure you the NCAA has the power to access all those things.

He should have been a nice clean cut boy like Tebow

Always easy to change your tone the next day. I suppose you were just messing with Lawrence Wright too when you dogged UF in a thread that had nothing to do with UF, much like this thread has nothing to do with Bama.

Bud , give it up! You are way too serious! Please just quit ... Do you have a complex that you HAVE to defend other people who don't share my views? You have just won my "ignore button." Please treat me the same. Maybe a trip to your health care provider would help in dealing with your apparent high stress, and I am serious! So long, no more responses from me so go ahead and attack me personally all you want. Hope it makes you feels better. Happy trolling!
:salute:
P.S. If you like Barack that really is OK with me. You can think any way you want just please act like an adult and don't get personal with me for my views. Also, you never responded to my main point about TRADITION. Huming, wonder why?

I'm glad you don't take it seriously. I got an infraction for one of my responses to you, so not everyone appreciates the ribbing.

Even though your a bummer I still enjoy the way you try to put down the winningest football program since 1926 and yes TRADITION matters. Hang in there I think a troll may just blow a gasket! GO VOLS!

UT is the third winningest since 1926. Oklahoma passed you in 2011 and we did last year, even with all the vacated wins.

I don't think so. Please provide source.

I-A Wins 1926-2012

Stassen is a great resource for head-to-head comparisons. Their search function is really easy to use.

And just to prove that they take Bama's sanctions into account:

All-Time Records for Alabama
OK, I stand corrected! To get away from my traditionalist background for a moment (for the few Tennessee trolls out there) give CBJ FIVE YEARS AND WE WILL "RISE TO THE TOP! GBO

Because right now our tradition means nothing. How many wins have our tradition won us over the past five years? BTW, nice hypocrisy slinging political insults at me yet you're getting butthurt because you can't bring any actual discussion to threads. If you want to talk about what we did 15 years ago like it was yesterday, stay in the main forum where people eat that crap up.

Behind what? Manziel's alleged deliberate choice to break NCAA rules? He had to have known it wasn't allowed.

Read my post in its entirety. You will probably understand the whole message instead of just apiece of it. Your response is a lot like people who grab a piece of Bible ver4se and to make it sound like it said something it didn't.

Whether it is him or someone else, at some point I think someone needs to challenge the authority of the AA to regulate these kids lives to the degree they do. These schools rake in millions if not billions of dollars on the backs of these kids that they work like government mules. They "allow" them to attend their schools for no tuition and proceed to tell them they cannot profit off of their own likeness or autographs when most of them can't even afford to go buy a pizza on Friday night. It is disgustingly hypocritical and borders on legalized indentured servitude.
If being an indentured servitude is getting a 100,000+ scholarship and all the food I can eat. Free orange clothes and shoes and I get to travel to different cities and stay in some of your finer hotels. I repeat all the food I can eat? And all you want from me is to go to class to stay eligible, study film, work out, and utilize my skills on the gridiron to the best of my abilities. Call me Kunta Kinte.

=======================================

You're both wrong. Kunta Kinte (AKA: Toby) wasn't an indentured servant. He was a slave. Indentured servants are contracted for a specific period of time and then are free. Usually, in
dentured servants or a family member owe some well to do person money andmust5 work off the debt. A slave on the other hand is purchased property who technically is never legally free unless granted a writ of such by an owner.

Scholarship athletes only marginally fit the indentured servant model. I say marginally because athletes have far greater leeway to violate or disengage from the stipulations than indentured servants. However, technically, scholarship athletes are peddlers. In a similar sense, they're mercenaries. People selling a desired combat skill to a willing purchaser for social status advancement or payment in some form.
