You are 100% wrong. I challenge you to contact any drug testing company you want. If someone test positive for say hydrocodone and they can produce a valid prescription they are required to remove the positive results from the test. I've been there and done that. It has zero to do with any HR. I challenge you to call tomorrow.
Lol I work in executive healthcare and if they didn’t declare the meds to us and are found to be under the influence, they are gone.

Not true. People have negative effects off of it all the time. Especially those with psych issues, brain issues, and depending on how you take it other related issues

You can’t sit there with a straight face and say it is more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, yet, they are not illegal. By any measure, alcohol and tobacco are the more dangerous and lethal drugs.

The fact that marijuana is the illegal one out THC, Alcohol, and Tobacco says it really isn’t about safety or health.

So you mean smoking the ganja only helps his pain?

Nope. In addition to pain relief, it helps his speech, helps him sleep, and in his words just makes living day to day more tolerable.

I'm convinced that you just pick the dumbest hill to die on, and say "Okay, that's gonna be my stance."

Lol.
Maybe your industry is exempt? I own the business have talked to both the labs and lawyers. Call a lab tomorrow and get back to me.

The 5% tax will strengthen the illegal weed market because the states will add their taxes on top of that.

I’m totally ignorant of proposed laws for legalization.

Will it be legal to grow your own?

IF yes I could see this significantly cutting into projected revenues

Just because you are prescribed something doesn't mean you can still do your job. If you're prescribed hydros you can't legally operate a vehicle while taking them. So driving a company vehicle or driving for your job is out of question.

He’s actually right, under the influence at work is under the influence prescription or not.

You are correct about the drug test, you don’t disclose prescription meds until the med review person calls about your test and if you have a script you’re all clear.

I agree but I'm telling you what I was told. I know there are exceptions maybe if you're operating a vehicle you can claim an exemption. I have a friend that owns a trucking company and his drivers are handled differently but as a manufacturer, it violates HIPPA for the testing company to inform me of presence of prescribed narcotics.

Y’all are talking about two different subjects.

That’s why they ask you if you’re taking anything before they give you a test.

I said earlier, you have to prove that he was high and make a case that it is effecting job performance.

Here's an article that explains it.

All Can Employers Screen Employees for Prescription Medication Usage?

No marijuana legalization has long been blamed on old stuck in the mud Republicans. With Biden and Harris on the Democratic ticket, it's tough to lean heavily on that.

It's absurd recreational marijuana isn't legal by now. Absolutely absurd.

I can't see a manufacturer being cool with someone on the line using narcotics at work. If it impairs you or endangers the employee or coworkers I would think they move you somewhere else until the scrip runs out.

I agree, but I've got to be able to prove it. That's not always easy. Not to mention there are different levels of intoxication. Obviously if some one is stumbling around, it's a no brainer. I've had guys that I suspected, they've volunteered to go get tested, and they tested negative. They had a prescription. What can I do?

Before anyone is tested they’re asked about what they take. If there’s anything that they’re not prescribed they can be fired. That said, if someone is creating an unsafe work environment for themselves or others they can be fired prescription or not.

Again. Its not always black and white.

It’s called the MORE Act and has passed the House Judiciary Committee. It’ll definitely be altered if it were to ever be made law but as it stands it would remove cannabis as a schedule 1 drug so in essence you could grow your own.

And just like today you can make your own beer, moonshine, clothing, food, etc but people still buy this stuff for convenience and better quality than what they can produce at home. Those industries are still doing very well in fact.

This would add to that list and even by the most conservative estimates would generate millions for the government and millions more for private citizens.

Quick fact. It’s still illegal to make distilled spirits even for your own consumption.

I can't partake.

Shouldn't be illegal.

Anyone in jail for marijuana possession should be released immediately and given a free pound of their preferred smoke.
This made me think of former Steelers RB Bam Morris.

Remember how much he was possessing when he got caught? 🤣🤣🤣

Nope. Had to google him. I don't follow the NFL at all. I see he had over 200 pounds of it though. NICE! The most I ever saw was in high school. A guy had 6 pounds in his trunk and was going to Panama City for spring break and to sling dope. I thought that was a ton.
