Tennessee head football strength and conditioning coach Mark Smith is under strict review by coach Lane Kiffin and might not be with the Vols when summer workouts begin in June, a source told the News Sentinel.

The specifics of the friction between Smith and Kiffin was not disclosed.

Smith was still considered a member of UT’s football team as of late Thursday night and had not cleaned out his office despite persistent rumors to the contrary within the football office and on the Internet.

You must remember, Smith is coming from South Carolina. An 8 win season there gets a statue of the coach cast. It's probably a bit of a culture shock working somewhere that demands excellence.

Not saying he won't be able to replace Smith, if that's what it comes to, but trust is not something you should loosely toss around.

Lol there will always be turnover in players. And if a coach doesn't wanna work well with others, I say good riddance.

just read on another site, he is gone and his office is packed. no details on what led to he and Kiff parting ways.
