Mass shootings in Maine

He's just emotionally bitching to bitch.
I'd like to know why two weeks in a mental ward wasn't enough time to evaluate and go to a judge to have his firearms removed. That's all that needed to occur for this to have been prevented. The government, the ones he wants to give more power to, failed to do their jobs. The ball was dropped and his and other's solution is to pass more laws. It's intellectually lazy and quite frankly a stupid take.

You two bozo's seem to be the only ones doing all the complaining - all I said was that the yellow flag law was sh*t.

My source for that claim is that Robert Card killed 18 innocent people under a "yellow flag."

Looks like that's the "bitching" dig is about all you can muster since I'm not anti-gun and think more gun laws won't work.

A little intellectual honesty in attacking me would do wonders for you both. I'm not the enemy just because I ask inconvenient questions.

What do I know, you guys circle the wagons, lash out and attack strawmen - it makes you looks super smart.

In Septics world the government can't be wrong, it's us heathens that need to be controlled.

So why do we need more laws if the laws on the books would have worked if enforced?

I didn't say we needed more.

Why do you keep foisting that position on me? I've already stated my doubt that more laws would be the answer to the problem.

Clearly the yellow flag laws are sh*t, you know - since 18 people are dead. Which was the entirety of my initial point, that you saw somehow as threatening.

Why is the yellow flag law "sh!t"? If LE would have went forward and followed it his guns would have been taken away? What makes you think LE would have followed through with a red flag confiscation?

You don't ask inconvenient questions you ask dumb questions and when given the answer you argue, b!tch and whine.

You are calling for red flag laws is that not more laws? You've admitted that the yellow flag laws would have worked in this case but you call them "sh*t" laws. Are you intentionally being obtuse or are you having a stroke?

Why do you keep assuming that I'm anti-gun? I'm not.

That's part of why you look like an angry Karen, lashing out at anyone who isn't circling the wagons.

I generally agree that more laws won't fix the problem. Common sense laws that say if a guy literally threatens to shoot up sh*t, should have his access to guns restricted without further delay until he or she can be professionally evaluated is common sense.
having no real justification to take away someone else's guns, aka red-flag laws, is a pretty anti-gun stance. I have always applied the equal rights judgement, would you be comfortable with people losing their other rights in this same application? Can't vote, no free speech, if they are a danger to society, they are a danger to society. You have already taken away their innocence until they are proven not-guilty, so why not the rest?

the Maine "yellow flag" laws are much more reasonable. A judge can rule to take away a persons guns AFTER a professional has evaluated an individual. the way the rest of our justice system works. i would even be ok with that evaluation being enforced/required by the state, and not voluntary. no cost to the individual.

I guess when you can't attack the person with facts, you feel the need to make up positions.

I still don't like the yellow flag laws as they can easily be abused BUT I would be willing to compromise if the proper protections are provided.

Your strawman speeding argument is cartoonishly dumb, take a lap.

Additionally, you seem to be suffering from a bit of cognitive dissonance. You hold that fed flag laws are an "abomination" and also lean on "officials in Maine should have removed his firearms."

Do you bitch just to bitch?
under the red flag laws a "concerned" citizen could have your guns taken away if they see you speeding. There is literally no justification/bar required to be met. so its not as dumb as you want it to be.

Do you think you have provided us with facts? If so you need to reevaluate.

How is the Maine yellow flag law sh!t? For reference, it's a fact that you posted that.

homicide laws are then also sh*t, since way more than 18 are dying.

It's sh*t because it didn't work, try to keep up.

it would depend on the process for me, but I definitely see ways its possible to do a yellow flag law correctly.

Truth of the matter, this should have never gotten to any red/yellow/purple/green flag law. The guy made threats to using a firearm to shoot the place up. That's assault and he should have been arrested. If you or I made a threat like that, and it was reported, we would have been arrested, especially if there is evidence proving it.
