Jarnell has a nice jump shot actually.
I just want Jarnell shooting 70% from the line this year. He's going to get fouled A LOT this year. He's got to hit his FT's.
Not completely unlikely. He may want to stay another year and get a chance to play with Austin (if he comes here) and Hubbs for at least a season. But it all depends on where he is projected to go. Passing up top 5 pick money would be foolish, but if not drafted in the lottery would kind of be testy to go.
All said I sure wish the NCAA would make the NBA go back to the 3 year rule like FB - there is no shortage of talent in the NBA -- at least they should do it for kids to get a degree and quit making a 1 or 2 year scholarship look like a joke.

I heard a really good comparison for Jarnell the other day: Thomas Robinson.
No way athletically IMO, much better comparison is Sully....Robinson just got drafted what? Number 2, largely because of his athleticism, he's 6'9" so is jarnell you say, the difference is Robinson is a freak athlete.
Jarnell won't sniff that...IMO
I think if Jarnell can prove to be consistent and have a high motor and be a presence on defense top 10-15 isn't too far fetched.
If its January and Maymon is just now coming around to be able to play...do you play him, or redshirt him and bring him back next year? Does it depend on current record?
Seems quick answer is bring him back, he makes you better and you should still be a tourney team...
But...adding him to next years roster could honestly be a national championship quality team.
I think in theory, it would depend on the record at the time of his supposed return.
In all practicality, when he gets healthy, he's gonna want to play, and I doubt a coach would tell him he's got to redshirt.
This is all supposition, but if it gets that far, look at it from Maymon's POV. If BB is his future, do you want the NBA looking at your last 1/2 yr after missing summer practices, surgery, recovery, getting in game-shape and then doing the best you could? Or does it make more sense for Maymon to take the yr, get fully recovered, and play an entire senior season @ 100% with Hubbs opening up the middle for him (and possibly Stokes)?
Does bring up the interesting question, if Stokes/Maymon are there for 2013, where will Nichols play? The 3, obviously, but will it work on both ends of the court, and is that what Nichols wants?
Now, that's a starting line up!!!
I'm leaning this way myself. If I were Maymon the thought process would have to revolve around a diminished return already in effect for the upcoming season. I'm not being hypersensitive. If I were a Vol's fan I would roll the dice hoping for a red shirt and Stokes returning next year with a solid recruiting class. Could be a formula for a title.
I'm leaning this way myself.
Rather than a 85% Maymon working himself into game shape with limited minutes.
Come back strong next season, 100% focus on basketball, 100% healthy and the starting line up shown above.
Look out 2013!!
