There’s a report from both witnesses, it was linked earlier. Both said the guy refused to leave at first then said he was reentering when he was punched once in the face. Everyone maintained he didn’t fall down steps nor was he near steps when he was punched. There's been ample time to do an investigation and I'm sure they've gotten Burrell's take on it. He must have sided with McCullough, otherwise there wouldn't be a reinstatement
Except I wasn’t, nice try though. Go back and read. I said he simply punched someone and he wouldn’t play till it was pleaded down or dropped.
You don’t follow someone if you are fearing for your safety.
I do not believe there would be a long chase between McCullough and a drunk. I also do not believe the guy was probably moving at a high rate of speed away from the door. Again there is probably some grey area but mostly I believe the ppl that were sober and where they were supposed to be over some drunk that illegally entered their apartment.I believe the biggest argument the defense lawyer is putting out is that JM did not chase after the guy and stick him away from the apartment. They also state that if the guy had just left and not tried to re-enter this would not have happened (self-defense).
The whole story seemed fishy from the start.
A cop in the other thread said they don’t take statements from drunks. My lord I’m beginning to think some have agendas against our own players. Not as unusual as you might think. Plenty of drunks find themselves talking to police while they are still hammered. Often the booze is right there with them.
I don't get this.I just heard on the Radio, That Spencer (Victim) gave a statement in a drunken state with a Vodka bottle in his hand.
This is really poor police work if that is the case.
Because they don’t exist.Dude, don't be a naïve. This is one of the only messages where you replied to me directly so I won't pull out examples where you are replying to others, but you are definitely assuming his guilt here based on the "victims" account of the story that they were pursued and punched down a set of stairs.
I don't get this.
I didn't get it a month ago when some dude said he once played a policeman on TV, and knew policemen don't take statements from drunks. Didn't make sense then. Doesn't make sense now.
You're a cop. You roll up. You need to find out what happened. No one is talking but this one fella. The fella is lit, and is holding a bottle. But he's the only one talking.
You mean you're just gonna, "peace out," and not find out what happened at all?
Nah.
I think police take statements from drunk folks all the time. You would think they'd note the dude appeared inebriated, but maybe the guy fakes it well, idk.
I wouldn't call it poor police work. Just a lack of alternative sources of information.
Ah yes the guy with “connections”.I can't say if it is true that he had a Vodka bottle in hand when rendering a statement. This was just put out in a statement local radio station. They read the statement on air.
If true that would warrant in my opinion that you book them both and take them to the police station for questioning.
Charge the Victim with Public Intoxication or something to get him to the Jail. Give him a BAT or something. I believe that this was totally mishandled.
What's more, is RickeyVol's account of what happened according to all his buddies at the KPD and other offices in City Govt. A lot of half truths, rumors, gossip and hearsay.
@VFL-82-JP Do you remember the names of those who pushed the "he must be guilty" narrative? I don't usually go back and hammer people for past bad opinions but this is a special case. I simply argued that we needed to wait to see what all the facts were and that there were some inconsistencies in what the guy said. One poster was SURE JM was guilty because he had had the "exact" same thing happen to him.
There are people assuming he must be guilty (and stupid) on the VERY FIRST PAGE of that old thread. Not just one or two. A dozen or so. Don't take my word for it, go see for yourself.I don't recall anybody saying "he must be guilty." It sounds like something you're making up.
But if you can find the posts, hammer away.

A whole lotta folks leapt to quick conclusions in that thread. And then a few people continued to assume and propagate the worst about our players for another 61 pages of discussion.
