Media Wars

I love that Elon Musk upset the liberal Apple Cart. They never thought that one of their precious Billionaires could change the culture, and now the rainbow flag warriors might just get a taste of their own medicine.

NBC News boss is forced to hold emergency meeting with journalists after they warned hiring Jen Psaki as MSNBC host would tarnish the brand

The president of NBC News has been forced to hold a meeting with staff outraged over the network's decision to hire Jen Psaki as an MSNBC host.

Noah Oppenheim held the call with staffers at the network's Washington DC bureau over their fears that hiring the White House press secretary will tarnish the brand.

According to CNN, Oppenheim told his journalists that Psaki would only appear on MSNBC, which is known for its left-wing opinion shows, and not NBC News itself, which bills itself as a neutral news network.

She is said to have informally agreed to host an MSNBC show that'll be screened on the Peacock streaming service.

One person who was on the call said: 'Here's what he was saying: They have perspective programming. This was done on the perspective programming side. Not anything that reflects on NBC News.

A source inside NBC News told DailyMail.com.

‘Noah had absolutely nothing to do with the discussions with Jen. This is all on MSNBC,' said the source.

Leaked Memo Reveals New York Times Boss has Ordered Staff to spend LESS time on Twitter - after Star Columnist Claimed the Platform was the 'ultimate editor' of the Paper

The New York Times has told its journalists to get off Twitter after recent concerns of online harassment - and have issued a 'reset' on how the newsroom uses the social media platform.

New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet has written to staff telling them that maintaining a Twitter presence is now 'purely optional' for staff, a memo leaked to The Insider revealed.

Baquet also told staffers who choose to stay on Twitter to 'meaningfully reduce' their time on the platform.

As part of NYT's social media policy 'reset,' Baquet added that the Times will be stepping up efforts to support their journalists by rolling out new training and tools to help prevent and respond to online abuse, saying it's an 'industry-wide scourge.'

Former New York Times columnist Bari Weiss has long been a critic of the Times' use of social media, stating that 'Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor.'

Television will die with its audience, experts warn, as younger people switch to interactive forms of entertainment like the metaverse

  • The metaverse is a collection of virtual worlds and online gaming platforms
Traditional broadcast television will die with its audience, experts have warned, saying young people prefer interactive forms of entertainment like the metaverse.

This is a loose collection of virtual worlds, gaming platforms and other forms of interactive media, including Minecraft, Roblox and Meta Platforms.

Frederic Cavazza, co-founder of Sysk, a French firm specialising in digital transformation, said young people have evolved from passive spectators of television, to active players in interactive mediums.

'They've turned away from screens to smartphones,' Cavazza explained, adding 'TV channels are going to die with their audiences,' unless networks adapt.

Did you even bother to read the article that you commented on? It doesn't appear so.

The staff of NBC's news division was worried about damaging the brand of NBC News ... not MSNBC.

Jen Psaki is just as logical a hire for an opinionated, cable news, liberal programming network such as MSNBC, as former George W. Bush White House Press Secretary, Dana Perino, and former Donald Trump White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, were for Fox News.

The concern was that Jen Psaki would also be contributing to NBC's news coverage, but it now seems that those concerns have been alleviated.

Do Republicans/conservatives have a problem with Dana Perino and Kayleigh McEnany working for Fox News? I doubt it.

Pretty sure they were both hired after the administration they worked for left the White House.

Rachel Maddow returns to MSNBC, will Switch to Once a Week

NEW YORK (AP) — MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow returned to the air Monday with some bad news for her fans: Starting next month, she will be doing her prime-time show only once a week.

After working her customary five nights a week for the rest of April, Maddow said, she will work on Monday nights only starting in May. The network said it will rotate guest hosts the other four weeknights on a show called “MSNBC Prime.”

If that makes a difference, then it should be pointed out that Fox News hired Karl Rove as a paid contributor in 2007. He had worked for the Bush administration and also served as Bush's campaign manager twice. Bush did not leave office until January of 2009.

Sounds similar to Jesse Watters Primetime.
