Meet the new boss..... same as the old boss

One of the poorest planned/coached efforts I have seen since, well last year.

Florida is a completely inept mess and they STILL hung 31 on us. If our offense could have moved the ball even a little bit we would have seen CBJ signature win. Even though after seeing how bad Florida is right now I would struggle to have called it a signature win, but rather a gift wrapped in a pretty bow.

Serious question to all the older Vol fans.... Is this the worst situation UT has ever faced at the QB position.

You know what they say, If you have four quarterbacks, you dont have one.

GO VOLS!

Worst I've seen in my lifetime. It's that way at almost every position!

The thing that makes me so sad and disappointed is not THAT we lost, but HOW we lose. We dont even look like an FCS team right now. I have no clue where Derek Dooley got these awful players. We had the chance of a century to beat Florida. And we may never have that same chance ever again. Florida will damn sure be back and Im sure it will happen when Tennessee is back, which means more losing to Florida. We blew the chance of a lifetime.

Chance of a lifetime? Uh we are not Vandy..

Though I know we have a long way to go, i do not believe for a second that we made the wrong choice for a coach.

We must understand that it takes a season or two before we can determine that a coach is worth the money we have paid them.

Go Vols. I for one believe that regardless of this season you will return to the team we once knew. GO VOLS

Butch Jones is no Derrick Dooley. Jones is the man for the job....I truly believe that. He is off to an unbelievable start with recruiting....and trying to mend fences with high schools that Dooley messed us up with. Jones has succeeded everywhere he has been....Dooley has not. He inherited a big job....lets support him as it won't happen overnight.

I'm 46, soon to be 47. I have been a Vols fan since the Condredge Holloway days. Coach Jones has a bigger rebuilding job then what Coach Majors had to deal with when he came marching home in 1977. It took Coach Majors about 5 to 8 years to get things stabilized. All we can do is support the Vols and Coach Jones, and as the Vols continue to improve the wins will come.

CBJ is a better coach than Dooley. But minus a heisman winning quarterback I am not sold on the spread offense in the SEC.

I cant believe Peterman had a better practice week that Worley. Sorry. I think Butch Jones buckled under the pressure to change QBs and he already knew he was going to Peterman. It was a busch league move to leave Peterman in as long as he did. With the opportunity of a lifetime staring him in the face.

CBJ is proving to be one stubborn SOB, but not in a good way.

Supposition piled on top of supposition.

MWA, you should have let people think you are twelve; at least then you would have had youth and immaturity as an excuse. The Florida defense is anything but a joke. It is among the best in the nation. I was there and we did miss a golden opportunity with our lack of offense in the first half; and yes there were coaching calls/decisions that I did not understand or agree with. But this team is nothing like the team we fielded last year. This is a team, not a collection of individuals. Given time I think this staff can get us back to where we are in the mix for an SEC title; anybody who compares this staff and team to last years at this point is simply showing their ignorance..........

2008 was a QB disaster -- 2000 with Mathews, Suggs and finally Clausen taking charge

It really has only worked for UF and Auburn but the QBs were bulls (Tebow and Newton)

That was the worst Florida offense in 20 years. Our defense was actually good, but as usual, they were gassed. A good coach would've used Driskel's injury as momentum to radically adjust his game plan.

Peterman should've been pulled after his 2nd series even if Driskel hadn't been injured. It was deerintheheadlights.com for the slow release Peterman. The dumbest move was Butch thinking that his slow release could work against the fastest, toughest defense in the sec.

Just a bad day for Butch. Worse is he didn't fess up and take the blame.

Worst situation at QB at UT in ages and I can remember the single wing at UT in the 60's. Gators will lose 4 more times: Georgia, LSU, South Carloina, and FSU. That's 5 losses and a minor bowl bid.

You are completely wrong about this coaching staff. You will begin to realize just how wrong you week by week as this season progresses.

I also think Worley played on of his better halves of football, based on the level of competition. Worley is going is going to continue to get better.

Didn't I read on here that we only have 3 players left on team from Kiffin class? Almost entire class and their depth and strength training gone. CBJ doesn't have much to work with. He is probably saying to himself "why in the h3ll did I ever leave Cincy?

Do you realize what year it is, and when Lame coached here. It has something to do with that.

No they won't loose all 4 of these. At the most they lose 2.

This I agree with. All the hand wringing and chance of a lifetime to beat UF is hilarious. It's a process that takes time. It is not a microwave situation where a snake oil salesman comes in and take our Big East level talent and makes them winners while playing the 2nd hardest schedule in the nation.
Man, makes me wonder how people get by in life on a day to day basis.

Same here. I thought Worley looked much better than he did against Oregon. I also see some small improvements every week. Can't fix everything all at once. We'll be back in due time starting next year. In the meantime we can win 4 more games this year and go to a small bowl which will be an accomplishment.
