Meyer stepping down

Ron Zook may be available.:)

My Illinois friends HATE that man with the burning passion of a thousand suns...

I can imagine everyone in the Big (Little) 10 will probably weep when he goes.
It means that Illinois might not roll over and surrender, as they do for Zook.

Oregon fans on here are talking like us Tennessee fans were last year when the USC job opened up... Kelly would run to Florida for close to Meyer money.

the overestimate the quality of the oregon job. if they think kelly is going to challenge for a NC most years at oregon they are high. he's not that stupid to think that either. on the other hand florida has a lot higher expectations.

florida absolutely has the personnel to run kelly's offense. hell there might not be another team in college football (oregon included) with better personnel for that offense.

Keley can win the Pac 10 much easier than he could the SEC. He'll get as much money from Oregon as he could get from FL. He may entertain FL in order to get a raise at Oregon, but I doubt he leaves Oregon due to being set for 5 to 10 years in the Pac 10.

I don't think so

Why would they want Kelly anyway? It would take 3-4 years for him to build a team that MIGHT be as good as the teams Meyer put together with Tebow at the helm.

It's all about the assistants.

Other than the most important postion, which is the QB...Florida's OL may not fit either because of the up-tempo style but the rest of the guys would fit like a glove.

I doubt he would leave, he has Oregon in the National Title game, what else do you want?

Plus with Knight's money to back up anything that Kelly wants as far as pay is concerned, there is no real reason to go other than the huge upgrade in weather.

it's easier to win the sec at florida than it is to win the pac-10 at oregon. only because oregon produces zero recruits. i very much doubt that oregon could match whatever money florida could throw at him.

With USC being on probation, it's not far fetched to think Oregon could be in a position for the NC fairly easy for the next 5 to 10 years.

How long will it last this time?
I really hope he doesn't turn into another Favre.

Lets stick to the SEC. (other than the bolded one.) As has been discussed in this thread, Tebow had a little something to do with that year also.

Right.

Let's stick to the SEC.

He's been there for six years, four of them with Tebow.

How is it even reasonable to judge his coaching ability from this basis?

florida has an excellent freshman spread/running qb.

even kelly as arrogant as he is has to realize this isn't going to be a normal occurance at oregon.

phil's not going to pay him $5 mil a year or whatever meyer was making. florida's football revenues are four times oregons.

Obviously Caldwell knew what was coming when he quit Vandy after just a year. He will be the next Florida coach.

Stop with the wishful thinking, not going to happen, you also myst not know the name Phil Knight and his little company Nike.

Oregon can pay him whatever.

Are you just typing verbatim what Clay Travis is saying on 3 hour lunch... Atleast come with your own opinion here...

Disagree. There quite a bit more competetion in the SEC than he'd have in the Pac10, and he'll be able to pull the CA talent considering USC is on probation.

I hear Gruden has property in Gainesville, but he'll never leave Tampa
