Meyer stepping down

I hear that about a lot of jobs. They got it right with one alumni and one guy that the AD had hired once before. These hires are blown all the time.

This is what I am looking for. Nothing will make me happier!

Oh and obviously the mods felt it necessary to take down my other thread about Florida Fans.

Interesting.

I agree he is such a deva!! Scarlett O'hara ain't got nothing on Urbie!!

Tebow was also a key player in the 2006 South Carolina game that UF barely pulled out.

well besides tebow he recruited percy harvin and cam newton too. easily 3 of the best players this decade

and a long list of other great players so yea keep thinking that

I didn't say he couldn't recruit. I didn't say he couldn't coach for that matter. I just said he would be hard pressed to maintain his level of success year in and year out and I think that's why he quit. What's your theory?

I really doubt UF has already offered Mullen the job, but I honestly don't know how long this Urban Meyer deal has been going on behind the scenes. This was on MrSEC:

Dan Mullen – The King David Show in 1010 WQYK-AM in Tampa is reporting: “Our sources in Gainesville telling us Dan Mullen has already been offered the Florida job.” One positive for Florida out of Urban Meyer’s resignation…it makes Miami’s search take a big backseat. The Miami Herald reports that UM athletic director Kirby Hocutt spoke with Mullen in New York this week.

Yes, they think they are THAT good. They don't remember much from before 1990.

There's a big difference between what happened at UF when Spurrier left, the talent cupboard was bare and the shoes were impossibly big, and a situation where there's plenty of talent and the coach, while popular, isn't nearly the huge presence that Spurrier was.

This time, pretty much any coach would take this job. I think that's why no one is freaked out by it.

I agree. My friend (who happens to be a Miami fan) was overly excited and laughed at Urban for a second or two... then quickly realized it may not even slow them down, certainly not to a screeching halt.
