'20 MI OL Justin Rogers (Kroger Field, folks)

Here’s the deal. We go 5-7 or worse then this class will be horrid. Bailey might decommit. Win 7 then we will blow up. Just got to see we are heading in the right direction. I am a fan with money in this and I want to see results on the field even more so than recruiting wins right now. Recruiting with these guys will be great if they produce on the field.

Certainly possible. They need to win at least 7 games as far as I’m concerned. And I don’t think it’s necessarily that farfetched that they don’t land a top 15 class even with that result. But I do believe they would most likely land a top 10-15 class with 7 wins. Which would be alright. But if this rebuild is gonna be don’t quick enough to where Pruitt doesn’t combust. I don’t see anyway he doesn’t need to start consistently landing top 5-10 classes. People aren’t giving this dude 5 years to get it rolling.

He'll get plenty of time as long as the trend goes upward, imo.

From me also.
Rare but sometimes I just feel like calling bs. Like you do with brubear on occasion.
Probably boredom.
Bruin loves to jump at the opposite viewpoint...and argue. But I don’t believe he does it solely to elicit a reaction. Also he never insinuated the intent to rape my daughter...so he has that going for him.

More so than ever before Tennessee has given other schools plenty to use against us in negative recruiting. No players taken in the draft, Vandy beating us the past three years, no bowl game, blown out twice at the end of the year against mediocre teams at best, etc.

The draft was more front and center than ever before with it being right here in our state and we had no players drafted. That’s being used by other teams, hell the perception amongst most kids these days is that Tennessee is a mediocre program at best.

All of that said, I think Pruitt has one of the best staffs in the SEC. He has to do it on the field this season and a lot more will fall into place with recruiting. And he will have a favorable schedule to put up a nice record against.

They win seven and get a bowl game and we’ll be in the top 15. I think our main priority currently is building from the trenches up. Pruitt can field an elite defense and has done better so far on that side of the field.

Presumably your post about following Recruiting was directed at me, so I’d be interested to know your definition of “hysteria.” I may be biased, but I don’t think my post quite fits; I think my perspective on how Recruiting is going simply differs from yours.

I kind of take the opposite approach with following recruiting. If you don’t want to experience the highs and lows of it, why bother following at all? Just wait to see how they do on the field in the fall, because that’s all that matters, right?
I quoted your post so I thought you would know it was directed at it. The "hysteria" I was referring to is the posts on here stating it is time to panic like yours that said "what is trending to be a disappointing recruiting class". Yes, we obviously have a different approach since I said because of where we are as a program what happens during the season will determine what kind of recruiting class we have. That should not need any Volsplaining since it would be that way with any program that went 4-8 then 5-7 and has an unproven head coach.

All that to say... We need some results, and time/patience.

I think, actually, the latter will be harder to come by than the former.

Well, aside from the complete whiff in reading comprehension by saying I said it was time to panic (and I’m not going to bother contrasting that vs. what I said, since you did it for me in black and white), agree to disagree on what the effects of the record should be.

Did you really just say I whiffed in reading comprehension then say I said YOU said it was time to panic??? Actually I said the posts on here stating it is time to panic. Did not say you said that. But said like yours saying "what is trending to be a disappointing recruiting class".... That is inferring it is time to panic about the class is trending May 6th.

Edit: Ah, never mind. You’re completely putting words into my mouth, so it’s not worth continuing this discussion. I think everyone will like that better.

man if we go 5-7 with this schedule then it wont matter because we have the wrong staff. unproven hc, retread OC, brand new DC, new AD. Might as well blow it all up at that point.

Florida's coach won a NY6 game in year one in arguably the most talent-heavy state. We're not in the same conversation as Florida and LSU right now.
Florida hasn't did much more than we have in recent years, they certainly aren't that much ahead of us right now. They haven't been a powerhouse in years either and that's a fact. LSU has underachieved a few years now itself. Bama and Georgia have the top 2 the last few years after that it's definitely a drop off as far as powerhouse is concerned. GBO! Pruitt and staff will get us there. I look for us to show good improvement this year especially as the season progresses. GBO!!!!!

This already get posted?

I was previously on Tennessee, who leads on his Crystal Ball predictions.

However, following those Tennessee picks, Rogers took an official visit to Lexington and I believe that has the Wildcats moving in an upward direction.

They have always been a school he likes though. It was about this time three years ago that Kentucky offered him a scholarship in the 8th grade. That was his first offer. He took a couple of unofficials in the years that followed.

Combine that with the success his former Oak Park teammate Marquan McCall and Detroit-native DeAndre Square have had there, and the recent boost the Wildcats got from an NFL Draft where they had several drafted, and I have them as the new team to beat.

There’s definitely some smoke out there about Kentucky right now, but I’m not sure what to make of it. Obviously, UK has put itself in good position, just as Tennessee did a few weeks ago. But is this just another twist in what might be a pretty long recruitment, or do the Wildcats have some staying power? He’s a tough one to read in that way.

also a poster on VQ

I know that I will get blasted for this but I know that Rogers didn’t have a very good visit at TN for the o&w game. A lot of things are still unorganized with our recruiting.

You're not wrong when you say Florida isn't a powerhouse. That said, they bent Michigan over a barrel in the Peach Bowl which is lightyears ahead of where we are.

I believe in Pruitt, but that doesn't change the fact that itll take a few years to catch up to LSU and Florida, whether they're powerhouses or not.
