Michael Dyer - now Louisville bound (merged)

What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

Part of me wants him to become a Vol b/c he is talented(from what I saw at Auburn) but the other part of me doesn't b/c of all the issues that come with him and I don't think that's a risk we need to take. I would really hate for us to lose that momentum we have now b/c of a bad choice. Think I'll just let Butch decide.

For the record I'm not totally against second chances, just don't think we need to take a risk in this case.:twocents:

I doubt he's in very good shape anyway. Chances are good he wouldn't start.

Was just informed by a lifelong friend of mine who works at 247 that Dyer has chosen and been granted a transfer to UT. I'm unsure as to how he came across this information or of its legitimacy. But just figured I'd let y'all know of the rumors round the 247 neighborhood.

If true, what are your thoughts?

You love to pretend you're well connected, don't you.

I just want him to go somewhere - tired of trying to find out if it is us or not.

For the record, if his head is on straight he is one heck of a good RB that knows how to run out of an offense like Butch's.

I say we welcome him with open arms...when it comes to football its all about winning, if you win people forget about your past. Remember the name Ray Lewis? He killed someone, but he won a super bowl and media made him out to be a saint and role model....its sad, but that's the world we created, so with that being said, what do we have to lose?

Just read the story about Dyer. It states he will play D-1 ball for somebody this season. No idea who it will be. If he is coming here, on one hand I will be worried for him and about him. However, I would support him if he is a Vol. Before I read about him, I would have said oh hell no. So before someone tears into me over this, read his story. It might change your perspective.

First Team All-SEC as Freshman - Check
Freshman All-American - Check
2011 BCS Championship Game MVP - Check
Rushed for: 182 carries, 1,093 yards (Average 6 yards a carry), and 5 TDs as a Freshman
Rushed for: 242 carries, 1,242 yards (Avg 5 yards a carry), and 10 TDs as a sophomore

When was the last time Tennessee had that type of SEC talent at the running back position? We're not in a position to turn him down, past and all. I'd welcome him in Orange & White all day.

You can be sure that he's not going to get here without CBJ saying it's ok.........If CBJ says it's good then we be good. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

It was said today that he was going to Louisville and had agreed to take weekly drug tests. It was said that if he failed one test then he was done. If the same agreement stood for him coming to UT then Im all for it.

I'm just "Joe Q. Fan" sitting in the corner end zone with no affiliation with the university other than being a lifetime fan...I'm not Bruce Pearl. Your rationale would exclude anyone from giving the kid anything. I've done my homework PJ.

I'd be for it too. He's an upgrade over Lane and Neal.

We have the need. This is his last and best shot to make it to the league. He's a take in my book. Like Butch said, when can he start?

If he keeps his head on straight....................

He can compete for a job.......... it can be for RB or Special Teams.

Only if Butch says OK.

If Butch says NO, then I say NO.

I don't have the info that Butch does.

His call!

I think there is one deciding factor that has yet to be brought up:

is he FAST TWITCH???
