Michael Dyer - now Louisville bound (merged)

What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

If you have ever bought a ticket, you're a booster. To put it simply.

Absolutely stupid and wrong! if I buy my ticket from StubHub, that means someone else purchased it from the ticket office. If I buy a ticket at Bryant-Denny does that make me an Alabama booster? Ridiculous post! Read the NCAA guidelines PLEASE!

Okay I've been gone a while. Any truth to this confirmed yet??

Well if I am understanding this thread correctly, he will play a few games for us, a few for Louisville, a few for LSU, and may even play for a few other teams as well. Also, this thread is simply a repeat of an older one and occurs regularly every 3 months or so. Butch Jones gets it, but it is unclear at this point if "it" is giving student athletes second chances or evoking a policy of zero tolerance.

Oh, and apparently posting an BS-flag-waving smiley will get you 25+ likes.

Dyer coming to UT would be the best thing that ever happened to us and the worst idea of all time simultaneously.

That pretty much sums up the thread. You're welcome

Anyone questioning the "no" crowd needs to look into this kid further. Does he have natural talent that can be a "game-changer?"....yes!! Does the kid have personal/mental issues that can destroy a teams chemistry/locker room if he were to fall off the "wagon?"....YES!!!! Is CBJ in a position to to take that risk in his 1st yr(especially for a 1 year player in his gimmie yr)?...??????

It was said today that he was going to Louisville and had agreed to take weekly drug tests. It was said that if he failed one test then he was done. If the same agreement stood for him coming to UT then Im all for it.

If he comes here, screws up and gets kicked off the team that's another hit to our already fragile APR.

Correction, season tickets. If you have ever bought season tickets from UT you are considered a booster in the eyes of the NCAA. Likewise if you've ever been involved in promoting the program, or made any kind of financial donation.

Let him in. Kick him off if he screws up.Hell it would be a good option because Lane and Neal have had some nagging injuries in the past. Could be a cool 30 for 30 story on ESPN if he went on and did great things.

I like it. Although we have not had a lot of luck with 5*s it appears this kid has learned from his mistakes. We missed on Cam and this take could add hype, specifically for the Auburn game. We will rely on the run this year and I think he could compliment our present backfield.

Dyer mystery
Michael Dyer, whose running helped Auburn win the 2010 national championship, appears to have earned another chance at straightening out his life and getting a college degree.

He was dismissed from Auburn in 2011 after failing a drug test. His checkered past also includes possession of marijuana and a gun – all of which turned him into a football nomad, moving from school to school.

Dyer enrolled at Arkansas State in 2012, but left there amid reports of marijuana use and gun possession. Then, he landed at Arkansas Baptist College, and good things began to happen.

The predominantly black school’s president, Fitz Hill, took a personal interest in Dyer and led him through rehabilitation. This week Dyer disclosed he will enroll at a “big D-1 school” where he’ll play football again this season.

Dyer hasn’t revealed the school, but Hill said it’s a place “where he can replicate and duplicate” his 2010 Auburn exploits.

I say if he wants to attend UT they should accept him. He is a difference maker and would only make UT better. If he screws up even once then cut him loose. He is only eligible for one season so I say give him a chance to prove himself. TN is not in a position to turn down proven playmakers. TN really screwed themselves by not going hard after Cam Newton who had a lot of interest in being a VOL. Just imagine what would have been had we landed Newton. The guy would have assured TN 2 more wins. He was that good.

With our offensive line dyer would definitely be interested. He'd be a one year player, but that is all we would need him for.

Dyer said here on the local sports channel the only school he is interested in going to is

Arkansas
