Michael Sam, Missouri DE, Is Gay

Duuuude....

One, I don't think Sam was saying he's intellectually homosexual.

Homo-sexual. He and everyone else knew what he meant when he said HE wanted to be the NFL's first openly gay man.

2. Sexuality shouldn't be an issue in sports.

3. I shouldn't be judged by you for not being open arms and shed tears bc I'm sensitive to another man sensitive sexuality.

4. I think homosexual sex is gross. MY opinion. Don't respect it? Then Don't think I'm gonna respect yours.

5. This announcement only pits people against each other and backs fans and the NFL into a corner.

6. And jut because accepting. Homosexuality is "the thing" to do right now doesn't give anyone the right for reverse discrimination either.

Check your d**n selves and value other peoples opinions as much as you want yours respected.

I don't care of he's gay. I don't care where he puts it. But he should have kept it to himself or teammates. It does nothing but create problems and make everyone feel awkward.

We are so afraid of society looking down on people with values they stand by.

I'm not a bigot. I accept people are gay. But I don't have to embrace it like I love their choice.

Gays are too damn sensitive and makes everyone who backs them look like sensitive whiney little p*****s too.

Who efn cares? Let gays be gays. But don't socially enforce others to accept it or go against their own belief system in order to appease some homosexuals selfish need for attention and drama.

Almost none of what you said makes any sense. I don't really care if you're open minded about it, I'm not asking you to. You are right though, sexuality shouldn't be an issue in sports. There you go again "I don't care where he puts it" that's de-humanizing, he's more than what orafice he puts it in. I don't have to respect your opinion when it comes from a place of pure ignorance, you have religious convictions, that's fine but when you start comparing homosexuality to deviant sexual acts you lose credibility. My opinion comes from experience, I'm not asking you to associate or even talk to gay people, just respect the fact that they are human beings like everyone else and treat them as such, that doesn't mean you have to like them.

If someone feels awkward, is that Sam's fault? Or is it a hangup that the person feeling awkward either needs to address or get over?

Ok, take California high schools for instance. Any gender can choose to go to any lockerroom or restroom they choose. I'm a guy, so when I choose to get showers with the girls, and they feel awkward, who's fault is that?

Obviously u have not been to the old city at night....why does anyone choose some of the crazy things they do?

I'd say it's very different to decide "Let's get drunk tonight and see what happens" compared to "I have decided at the age of 16 to stop liking women and start liking men even though I have never had feelings for men before."

We're on this world for a finite amount of time and life is already stressful enough without worrying about if Debbie does Amy or if Steve does Adam. Everyone needs to relax and enjoy the ride.

Uh Bur, not sure how to take that. lol

Last summer, Sam came out to his teammates. Some of the 2013 Tigers had known Sam was gay for years. It was news to others. However long his teammates had known, it was news that didn’t travel very far past that locker room.

Was his teammates told to keep it quiet?

“Telling the world I’m gay is nothing,” Sam said in interviews with ESPN, the New York Times, and Outsports.

Then why tell the world? So he could be the first openly gay NFL player?

Maybe because he wanted to make sure he came out on his own terms and didn't have to read the headlines on TMZ.com "NFL prospect is GAY"?

That's not the same thing, again you people keep dragging this down to JUST his sexuality.

Is Michael Sam doing a guy while you are in the room? Is he watching gay porn while beside you in class? Is Michael Sam stripping in front of you and making racy remarks toward you?

Why is it awkward for somebody who is gay to just be hanging out around anyone?

If homosexuality is determined to be a genetic predisposition and can be diagnosed and cured at an early age, would you, as a parent have your child treated?

I know exactly which recent ruling you are talking about, and it does not at all say what you claim it says.

I disagree with the ruling, because it is open to abuse. But it does not say that anyone can use any facility.

You would be getting dangerously close to eugenics with that...

That's a style choice. To show who they are.

I wore baggy jeans, jerseys, and flat billed hats in high school. Was I a gangster? No, nor was that the image I was trying to portray. That's the clothes I liked and what was comfortable to me.

Do you realize what you've done with this? I suspect so.

Depends on what they actually prove as fact

So he prefers espn to tmz .....the headlines are there lol

I'm not Michael Sam, but I know that if media members knew I was gay before the draft, and had no problems denying that I was gay, I would want to go tell my story on my terms, and not in a situation where tmz.com is reporting it.

No, why would I change what nature has already decreed?

Think so? Im pretty sure people are advised of deformaties and other ailments while fetus' are in the womb. I see it as no difference unless homosexuality is not considered a flaw.

I would have no problem being in the same locker room with another gay man, if that's what he is asking. As long as he's not touching or leering, as with any other man or woman that I was in the bathroom/locker room with, it's not an issue.
