Michael Sam, Missouri DE, Is Gay

Bingo.....I feel its more learned until they find out proof otherwise....i think they dont feel comfortable and feel different but thats just me.....I have no idea

I'm not sure how one learns to be gay. I now I didn't learn to like girls.

Think so? Im pretty sure people are advised of deformaties and other ailments while fetus' are in the womb. I see it as no difference unless homosexuality is not considered a flaw.

How can homosexuality prohibit your ability to be a normal human being?

I would have no problem being in the same locker room with another gay man, if that's what he is asking. As long as he's not touching or leering, as with any other man or woman that I was in the bathroom/locker room with, it's not an issue.

I dont either but I can see why some would.

Would you have wanted to be "cured" of your heterosexuality? That's what your asking and I'm pretty sure I know your answer.

I do get it, and I'm more sensitive to that line of argument, but really, again, if he looks over and thinks "Wow, that dude has a nice body" and leaves it at that, and you don't recognize it, what's the harm?

It's no different than me checking out the hot girl I walked behind on the way to English wearing yoga pants.

If the gay man isn't oggling another guy's garbage, or touching him, or doing anything other than showering, then what exactly does anyone have to feel awkward about?

If someone simply feels awkward being naked around a gay guy who is doing nothing wrong, shouldn't it be on that person to choose to shower elsewhere? Or simply wait til the gay guy is done?

That's not the same thing, again you people keep dragging this down to JUST his sexuality.

What does this mean? How is it not similar?

Is Michael Sam doing a guy while you are in the room? Is he watching gay porn while beside you in class? Is Michael Sam stripping in front of you and making racy remarks toward you?

Why is it awkward for somebody who is gay to just be hanging out around anyone?

Just like it is in California, when a guy is showering in a girl's locker room, it could be awkward for the girl to be naked in front of someone who may find them attractive (or unattractive). It's not awkward to hang around someone who is gay, but it is awkward for a man to get a shower with someone that is aroused by naked men.

Its just a question.. I think most, if being honest, would want the procedure.

I dont remember liking them when I was real young either.....what about people that choose to have sex with both men and women?

I can attest more to this since a friend of mine is bisexual. I asked him straight up when he told me because he was struggling with it (sorry for my bluntness, but this is how I phrased it) "When did you start liking d***?" and he calmly replied "I don't know, I just always kind of had. But I've always liked p***y too."

It's a good question though.

I know exactly which recent ruling you are talking about, and it does not at all say what you claim it says.

I disagree with the ruling, because it is open to abuse. But it does not say that anyone can use any facility.

Yes it does say that. Any student, on their word alone, can use any facility that they would like to use. They can also play any sport they would like, men's or women's, regardless of their sex

No it does not.

The student has to be transgendered. Again, there is a lot of room for abuse, and the ruling is going to get a lot of attention from the higher courts, if not the state legislature. But it does not say that any guy can just tell a teacher that he wants to shower with the girls.

I doubt the touching part, but leering could make other players feel uncomfortable and could become an issue.

This is inaccurate. The student does not have to be transgendered, and only has to claim to identify as whichever sex they choose. It does say that any guy can play any sport and use any facility they want, as long as they claim to identify as the other sex. They do not have to be transgendered.

I get that, but I'm the same way man or woman. I don't want anyone leering at me in the locker room/bathroom.

For the same reason that males and females use different restrooms. If a straight guy is in a room of naked women, it is impossible for most men not to look, much less start fantasizing about them. That's why it's called attraction, because there is something pulling you. Yes, it is awkward knowing that a guy is going to be checking out the other guys in the shower because he is attracted to guys.

That is pretty much the definition of being transgendered: identifying as a sex other than the one you were assigned (born with/as).

It's possible to check someone out without leering at them. As long as someone isn't gazing at me while I'm soaping up, I'm not going to be uncomfortable. If someone was leering at me it's going to bother me whether they are male or female.

ok, i assumed that transgender meant you are in the middle of changing gender. as i stated, it is only based on the student's own word that he identifies as the opposite sex, and then is allowed to use those facilities.
