Michigan spied on Vols last year

Watch half the players on the UM sideline start pointing up after OSU signals in a play

That pretty damning evidence in my eyes. I've got to believe someone is logging the whole game if they can get the angles they need. Maybe they knew one or two or maybe they knew a whole bunch. Regardless if it technically illegal by the NCAA, it should embarrassing to win games by relying on it.

Dumb, uneducated post.

I think it's stupid and uneducated to believe Michigan would call up South Carolina and say hey we broke an NCAA rule and got all their signals on video would you like to have them so you can beat them and we don't have to face them in the playoff? Think about how dumb that sounds? Only a desperate person grasping at straws would believe that nonsense. We were so flat footed that night against SC it wasn't even funny.

Could Rattler knowing all the defensive calls help him make the right checks and choices? He looked like poo the week before and didn't make a single wrong decision against us.

I don't believe for a second the complete BS story that Michigan gave South Carolina our signals. It's stupid just on the face of it. Obviously a troll job on our fanbase desperate for some excuse why we weren't sleepwalking through that game. It was clear from the get go South Carolina had been planning for our game all season long. Then they went and did again it to Clemson the following week.

Did Michigan give them Clemson signals too or just ours? Give credit where it is due, they beat us because our guys were too busy reading all the headlines about us being in the playoffs. You know the kind of choke job we are famous for but elite teams like Alabama and Georgia rarely have.

I would say the same thing of someone who doesn’t appreciate the depths that programs sink, in order to win football games. College football is a cut throat multi billion dollar enterprise.

I would be inclined to believe you if we lost that sh*tty sc team by a small margin, but they scored 63 on us after getting 6 on the gators the week prior. Oh and by the way, they really suck this year.

Yep, Clemson and Tennessee were both "scouted" by Michigan.

Beamer got himself off the hot seat with these 2 wins. He's been fined in the past for this. He's not above it.

Every game before Tennessee - no wristband

Tennessee and Clemson - wristband

Notre Dame - no wrist band

The other thing I noticed is the big sign presumably used as way to signal defensive calls is initially a Nike swoosh and then when OSU signals in a new play, it's changed to a picture of basketball player who's pointing up.

Pretty obvious this wasn't just a players only thing or not known in advance (unless UM travels with a large scale color printer to make up signs during game).

Some people need to see someone pull the trigger of a gun that has a full set of fingerprints On it to believe others feel comfortable using ballistics and fingerprints to connect the dots…

I don’t believe they called USCjr up. More like just sent them the sign sheets via anonymous email or via mail. You would never call and say Michigan calling here, we been doing this illegal crap and want to drag you into it..

Does it matter that South Carolinas defensive coordinator is the former defensive back coach for Jim Harbaugh?

You’re either extremely naive, didn’t read ANY of this thread, or you’re just flat out dumb.

TCU apparently knew about Michigan’s sign-stealing habit ahead of their College Football Playoff matchup last New Year’s Eve, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports’ Ross Dellenger. In order to mess with the Wolverines, the Horned Frogs changed their signs before kickoff. The coaches also used “dummy signals,” which were old plays that no longer ran with that signal. TCU players had to ignore these signals.“Sometimes we froze a play before the snap,” a TCU coach told Dellenger. “We’d call a play and then we’d signal in another play with an old signal but we told players to run the original play.”

Never underestimate the depravity of either Peyton robbing Michigan or gas pumping Gamecocks 😉

Certainly seems very likely that this was a possibility. If so that game makes me rage even more. Add to it, if they were cheating by stealing signs and it lead to Hooker getting hurt, that would be unforgivable imo.

Edit:

Shame Beamer is now admitting to consulting with other teams about future opponents.

Didn’t the guy on VQ say the scouting was done after the SCjr loss?

Edit: the scout was allegedly sent to the Vandy game which was after the loss. Not sure where they would’ve gotten the signals if UM hadn’t scouted yet.

4 year postseason ban worthy in my opinion. Plus they pay us $10M in restitutions

$10 million wouldn't even begin to cover it. If you could outright and explicitly "buy" a playoff spot for $100 million regardless of record-teams would be fighting to get their payments in first.

A first step would be doing away with any penalties UT accrued from the Pruitt debacle. Add additional scholarships over the limit to future years if needed.
