Michigan spied on Vols last year

Oh I haven’t seen that, only seen the Vandy game mentioned.

Yeah, I only saw the Candy game mentioned as well.

The guy who was supposed to be doing the scouting was apparently from Nashville and took the trip anyway as it was already paid.

From one of the linked articles

“The Tennessee-Kentucky game was the matchup that Michigan staffer Connor Stallions purchased and transferred tickets for. The matchup against Kentucky came a week before the Vols’ loss at Georgia and three weeks before their loss at South Carolina.”

From what I’ve read about this whole thing, Michigan is being accused of stealing all signals (offensive, defensive, and special teams).
Makes sense…. If you’re going to cheat, might as well go all in.

If someone stole our defensive signals, it’s easy to see how our swiss cheese defense was even more exposed.

Didn’t the guy on VQ say the scouting was done after the SCjr loss?

Edit: the scout was allegedly sent to the Vandy game which was after the loss. Not sure where they would’ve gotten the signals if UM hadn’t scouted yet.

They had multiple games with scouts, one was at the Kentucky game. Another was going to the Vandy game but we lost USCjr.

There is a lot of smoke right now that the gamecocks were helped by Michigan. It’s not confirmed, just that Michigan did help another team derail someone who was a potential rival in the playoffs. The fact that gamecock players had armbands with plays listed on them for the first time is an interesting bit of evidence. We also know that one of the coaches previously worked with and has a friendly relationship with Harbaugh, not to mention Beamer previously got in trouble for sign stealing so let’s not pretend he’s above it.

It’s all circumstantial and far from proven. But it does make you question whether the South Carolina game was a fluke after all

Michigan's tract record against the Sec" Ga 2021" doesn't look good. I believe the Vols would have a great chance in a playoff game. Even if Harbaugh was cheating

Michigan may have helped. They may not have helped. One thing is for certain - the media is latched on to the Wolverines like ticks chowing down on a animal, and they aren't going to let go until they've sucked every drop of blood they can out of the story. If there's any proof that Stallions or his enterprise sent stuff to teams out of conference, that's huge news, and it'll leak. Sooner or later, it'll leak, and we'll know. My advice would be to wait, enjoy the circus being in Ann Arbor rather than Knoxville, (as it so often seems to be), and let the bloodsuckers do their dirty work.

Not that I'm lecturing people who want to speculate. Hell, I'm speculating online about it too. The wristbands, the bizarre way in which a terrible South Carolina suddenly demolished UT and Clemson in back to back weeks, the idea that this dude and his posse worked to manipulate the entire sport to the benefit of Michigan, it'd be one hell of a story if it's true.

My argument is not about whether it's legal or illegal. It's legal. My argument is that the reason this rule exists has nothing to do with "cheating". It was a way to save money. People are calling Michigan cheaters for stealing signs when that's not even what the practice was outlawed for.
Omg. Are you really arguing that an illegal act wasn't illegal because it was being used for a different purpose than the one that caused it to be banned?

"I'm sorry officer, that cocaine in my glove box is to thicken the drywall patches in my kitchen. May I please go?"
