I think they are going to do whatever is going to make them the most money, if they believe that is keeping CBP they will do it. The NCAA thought not suspending Newton was better for them financially so they did not do it, I think the university will see it the same way.

I agree wholeheartedly. If Bruce is a goner, they must have a bigger big name coach on the horizon.

This ship's been sinking a long time and the only person responsible in Captain Pearl.

That said, I don't disagree. Pearl is gone, but I do wish he had waited until we were done. I'd like to see this team go out kicking and screaming if they are going out.

I know, but I don't see the University allowing a coach to walk all over them in order to make it to a Final Four.

MH should be fired the day pearl is gone or even before....UT basketball fixin to hit a rough part in the road & with Hammy makin the hire for a new coach expect it to be a bad one!...........

I agree I expect hammy to bring in another Dooley and no I am not a Dooley hater but Dooley did shock the UT world

I almost feel like I'm typing to a shrink in writing this but here goes.

I believe Pearl should be fired. It's very hard for me to say that as Pearl is solely responsible for getting me hooked on UT basketball. I have been a die-hard UT (football) fan from the day I was born at St. Mary's hospital across the river from campus. It's not that I wasn't a fan of all UT sports, I just didn't follow basketball as avidly as I did football, and do now (recruiting, watching every game, this mess, etc.). However, Pearl has done everything wrong short of stealing money from the university and I don't see how the university can justify keeping him on. That being said, I will still support him if he stays, but I almost feel like a parent (maybe because I am one now) that finds himself disappointed after his child has done something wrong. You still love them for what they are, but you must be objective with what they have done most recently.

I would consider myself a posi-Vol, but I too think he needs to go.

Go Vols. We will survive. Pearl is not bigger than UT. Nobody is.

So...if the roster is bare next year, whose fault is that? I'll give you a hint, not Mike Hamilton or Buzz Peterson.
