Mike Hamilton tells Jimmy Hyams Pearl did not inform compliance about bump(merged)

Please, they have earned our trust. I believe them, as you should. Like you've never lied.

I'm just generally a skeptical person. I forgive him. It's only happened once and that was a cookout.

So Pearl = Jesus. Nice.

Jesus wasn't the only person crucified in those days.

Hamiltons timing is atrocious. Is he that stupid? He can't be. There's no way someone could be that dumb. I hope he is canned as well. That moron.

As someone who actually hopes to win the game on Friday, I have to say that I don't understand why he had to go on record with this now. The media stuff that the team has to do is going to be a circus now.

Hamilton's been sitting on this for at least a couple of months. The season's highly likely to be over this weekend anyway. Did he really have to come out with it right now?

Timing is shoddy. I just am convinced in my heart that Hamilton is sincerely concerned for his job. Thus, he takes a shot across the bow.

Yeah! Why now? How is this productive at all? Good grief!!!

What baffles me is after all that Pearl has done to himself and this University, people still get mad at Mike Hamilton for commenting on something that sensible people have known was going to happen all along.

I don't know if it is what he said but more so the bad timing of it.

you people really get me wondering if you deserve a good coach. you want to run Coach Pearl out of town for something like this? a little embarrasment that will go away within a year of resolution, just like pitino at louisville. credit to their AD for standing by their coach because he is a good coach. ohio st is standing by tressell and his crime is worse than Pearls ever was. you people think quality coaches grow on trees and because we are mighty Tennessee that they will flock here. truth is they will see how the fans and administration stabbed Pearl in the back after saying they supported him and no one will want to come here. it will pain me because i want the best team on the floor i can get and i know Pearl is the man for that job (and don't start on all that "this year" stuff). if you all railroad him out of town, you deserve the buzz-years that will follow.

Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do.

THIS

MH is fighting for his own survival. Timing is horrible, but when you're trying to save your own hide, it doesn't matter.

BP should have been fired the minute Hamilton learned he lied to the NCAA. Now, Hamilton is paying the price.

If we are indeed performing another search, I'd prefer MH not be in charge of it.

The writing is on the wall, folks.

"Since 2006, the NCAA has sanctioned 27 schools for violating bylaw 10.1, which requires coaches and others to be truthful and forthcoming about possible NCAA violations. Of the 12 coaches involved, only one kept his job. The others either resigned or were fired by their schools."

Ok I guess Hamilton makes horrible hires. He hired Fulmer who became one of the winningest coaches in history, along with a title. He hired Pearl who has done wonders with a bball team that has sucked for 20-30 years. Believe it or not, Kiffin was a good hire at the time. He brought momentum back to the program and had recruiting off the charts. He didn't know Kiffin would leave so soon, wasn't his fault. I think Hamilton may be lazy and whatnot, but he's made good hires in the past

And right here is where I stopped reading. :eek:lol:

You're absolutely nuts. The money the UT can offer is more than enough to get a good coach. If said coach doesn't want to come here because he's afraid of the fan base then I don't want him.

Unreal.

The timing definitely was unfortunate IMO. Hammy must be feeling the heat. I really thought he would be allowed to stay on, hire the next coach, and then quietly find another job later in the year.

Oh well. Spring Practice starts Tuesday - Perfect Timing !

Why should he make the new hire if he's a lame duck?

MH is a lot of things, but ignorant isn't one of them. He's made some stupid decisions (Raleigh, Kiffin...) but they were all carefully crafted and calculated. Maybe he is dropping this info 2 days before the game to DERAIL the team. If they get past the 2nd round, it becomes increasingly more difficult to fire him. However, if they get blasted in the 1st or 2nd rd. it suddenly becomes an easy and convenient time to close the door on the Pearl era.

Just a thought...

Edited for reality.
