Mike Leach has been forced to walk the plank

Those players love Leach.

Like this clown.

I'll bet he's pissed.

He was at Kentucy during the Tim Couch years I believe and they led the SEC in Offense....this was at Kentucky....they didn't have the UT or UF receivers.

Does anyone remember the Rick Neuheisel wrongful termination settlement in 2005 with Washington? Slick Rick, who also has a JD degree (which doesn't mean he fought his own battle - but does give him some credibility with knowing the law) won $4.5M.

Having a law degree doesn't make him an expert in all legal matters. He has legal representation that'll handle this for him.

I'd bet he settles with the school, gets some coin, and moves on to some other irrelevant college football destination.

You're right, have a law degree doesnt make you an expert but he is no average joe either. It will be interesting to see what happens to say the least.

I have to wander if General Robert Neyland or Paul bear Bryant would be called a player abuser in todays game. They made players run right through vomiting. no water as punishment.it gos on and on. I think someone needs to fire espn and ncaa. You would think Craig James should know the coach his kid is going to play for. something stinks here. treedog

It's pretty much a joke. Perfect combo of a AD who wants his coach gone (why I will never know), and a prick father/son combo.

I do find it ironic that a former SMU player is the voice of right and wrong in college football though.

I think that its ironic that the James kid was not offered a D1 scholarship by anyone and Leach took a chance on him. Wow how that backfired.

Wrong forum....Needs to be in the "Around the NCAA" forum... That being said, he was due a $800,000 check tomorrow so the timing doesn't surprise me at all....

Wrong forum? No skin off my nose, I may not have seen it otherwise. Slow day anyway. Leach was Texas Tech football; this firing was a result of friction between Leach and the administration. I hope TT falls flat-- and they probably will. A conventional approach won't work at TT.

This is the end of Texas Tech. They are nothing without Leach. They aren't even Kentucky without Leach.

You forgot to add that Leach has been looking around too, let's not act as if the man was removed from a position where he was perfectly happy.

Can T tech do any better? I doubt it. The bottom line is there was friction between the admin and Leach and he gave them all the reason they needed to let him go. I bet they'll pay Leach some money for it but I'm positive they have taken that into consideration and decided to move forward anyway.
