That is every QB’s dream scenario and we missed it. This is what Heupel’s scheme does we just have to start taking advantage when the opportunities present themselves.

Not being great at social media, I'm wondering who "Vols Headlines" is that Spillman seems to have a good rapport with? That's a loose, comfortable conversation if he's talking to a reporter of some kind or is "V H" someone known in social media?

And yeah, that's a bad look for Pope, especially if it's confirmed by others from that room who left.

Is there anything that says MM actually entered the portal? He doesn't show up on any list and all the reports say he "plans" on entering.....i can't find where he actually did

So is Heupel going to address this? Is our athletic director/salesman/company man going to do something?

Hard to justify a "talent fee" when it actually does nothing. It never was going to do anything either lmao. It's a way to milk the fans for more money that the university can do whatever it wants with, which is pretty hilarious when you consider the cost of one ticket to see us pummel some technical welding school or something.

How bout our receivers recently? I find it hard to believe every receiver on our team doesn’t want to be developed. Every single one of their goals is to get to the NFL. Kind of a silly statement to make isn’t it?

Possibly, but kind of silly to blame Pope when we don't know either way.

Plenty of times throught the year where receivers were open and Nico failed to get them the ball.

I would think that some did want to be good but maybe were buried on the depth chart. It isn't like they are transferring to high level schools. I mean they are going to Vandy, Maryland, Appy State.....

I put his name on my profile because it is funny that folks still cannot pronounce it, but he isn’t even my favorite player on this roster lol.

You cherry picked a bad example and basically said the kid sucks. Plenty of good tape too. Facts are facts: the WRs and OL underperformed much more than he did.

Not defense, just open minded thought. We don't know the room dynamics, the attitudes of the players, the money they ask for, or anything like that.

What if Nimrod said he wanted a million? Has he produced enough for that kind of money or do you think he would drop it if you handed it to him...

We lead the nation in drops.....Pope can't make them catch it. Just having the opportunity to drop it means they were open.

There was a report of a playoff team having to pay players to stick around for the playoffs because they did not have enough depth to even run effective practices. Seems that may have been us. Also seem to recall CJH making some comments about his guys hitting the portal before the playoffs, saying he could not fathom it, etc. so that tracks as well. I think some the boys, particularly those in the WR room, gave up on the team before the end. I would not be surprised if we payed Squirrel, M.M., maybe others just to participate the playoffs.

One thing is clear. CJH has some rearranging to do on the coaching staff or has to get better NIL contract language / benefits. We can't have our best playmakers transfer en masse like this, something will have to be done.

Asked for paperwork to be submitted bc he was concerned Nico was leaving. Sounded like this might get resolved last I heard on it but I’ve slept since then. If he goes in the portal still it will likely be on Monday.

That might also explain too why the game was basically Nico running for his life for yards every play and nothing else
